We only stayed here because we didn't find any other room in Kyoto (silver week - almost no Hotel rooms left)||First of all the location is ok-ish. It's close to Nijo castle and a subway line, but far from the lively city center which is usually not what we book. The room was quite expensive due to aforementioned holiday I guess, but what we got for our money did not really correspond with what we expected. The room was VERY small even for Japan standards, and the furniture very basic and old fashioned. Unfortunately we got a smoking room as it was the only one left, the smell was bad, carped had burn holes. If you book a room don't take smoking room.||The bathroom is ridiculously small and a tall or even average tall person will not fit in the tiny bathtub we had.||They also had strange old-fashioned rules for a hotel. You could not take any visitors in your room, you had to meet them in the lobby (not that we wanted to, but we found this quite funny) and every time you leave the hotel you have to leave the key at the reception and not take it with you. Reception is only open until midnight so you better get back to the hotel by then :) Wifi was on/off really, not great quality. There was scaffolding outside our window due to some renovation next door, so we didn't leave our curtains or windows open.||The staff was friendly and nice. Bathroom and room both were clean.||It's an a very basic, average hotel really, I wouldn't book this type of accommodation again, unless I have no other choice as it was...

Close to the Castle. (10min Walk at the end of the street) 2 km from Nishiki Market and all the shopping you desire. It's a good base and close to transport. The room has tea, a TV, good hot water, good air conditioning and Wifi was fast and reliable.|The bed linen was clean, pillow fluffy and comfortable. Mini fridge was good.||But the room - Horrible. Tiny. (About 13m square) smaller than Tokyo. Smelly. Stained carpets, damaged furniture. Infect like I didn't want to walk on the carpet, very filthy. |The toilet and bathroom although clean was about 2 m square. In fact I could stand in the hall wall and still go to the loo !| Something to be aware of is that the block of land next door has just had scaffolding put up, so I would suggest a new building and work real soon. ||No work whilst we there as was long...
Read moreThe building was really old. Staffs are friendly but please do not stay there. I got itchy spot all over me after the first night stay in this hotel but I thought it was me having some skin problem until before we check out. About 20 mins before we left there were bed bugs walking around on the bed sheet! It make us feel so disgusting because we spent two night on the bed with bugs. When we took our begs there were more under our bag! It was a nightmare. I'm sorry and I feel bad for the staff and their business. Nothing wrong with how the services. It was the place. Too old, dark, smelly and dirty, with bed bugs. Not worth the price at all! It's a shame because the hotel location in a perfect area. Hopefully they will clean up and...
