Stayed here for a little over a week. The rooms feel very cheap (the entire bathroom is literally plastic), but you get what you pay for. They do not regularly clean the rooms and only take the towels once or twice a week. The kitchenette is convenient, but the provided plates are so tiny they have little utility and there are no bowls or any other kind of dish. The room gets nice and cold, so that was great. The shower has a nice feature where it can actually blow a cool breeze on you when you’re in the bath, and it can also be set to dry the shower out once you’re done so it’s not moist. We actually hung our wet laundry in there and used the dry function to dry our laundry. The room has a washing machine, but only hangers to dry your clothes. The front desk is usually only staffed with one person, who seemed to be there most of the time but not all the time. There is one vending machine inside the building that has drinks. On a rainy day when taxis were hard to find and I was in a bit of a rush to catch the Shinkansen, he kindly helped me with clear directions and warm support. Even though I wasn’t officially a guest, he treated me with great care and made me feel truly welcome.
Such thoughtful service, and his English is excellent too! My sister and I are truly grateful. We would highly recommend this...
Read moreThe staff made us very welcome and fixed problems with the recalcitrant air-conditioning. There is no accessible balcony, which meant the washing we were doing was not drying until we found out about the ventilation in the bathroom - there was no info in the welcome pack, but I think we may well have been the first guests in our room. The location is excellent, with Nijo castle about five minutes'walk away and an excellent Italian restaurant nearby. The were three in our party and our room really wasn't big enough to comfortably fit us all. Other than that, a very good stay....
