成田茶屋たばねのし — Local services in Narita

There's no exaggeration when I say I stopped my family in their tracks to pull them into this shop as soon as I saw a billboard full of matcha crepes and drinks. We ordered the KAKEGAWA MATCHA TIRAMISU that was carefully assembled by the employee(s). It was honestly quite neat to watch them through the step by step process and to see how much care they put into making sure each crepe came out beautifully. As expected, the matcha flavor was strong and bold with its natural bitterness, keeping the sweetness level to a minimum. The matcha cream is light and airy, making it very soft to bite into. The ice cream was also very creamy and they hid a cookie inside that has the same flavor profile and crunch as a Lotus Biscoff so there was dimension in terms of texture. Only downside is that the price was a little steep at ¥1190.

The decor of this spot is nothing to rave about, with its minimalism. However, we were thankful for the seating they did have, for about 8 people (or move if you sit closer together on the bench side), located near the back. They also have their own single stall washroom.

When we came in to order, there were about 2-3 couples ahead of us with virtually no wait, but after us, there was a long line of about 8-10 parties waiting out the door.

I had an amazing experience at this matcha café! The service was incredibly fast. I barely had to wait, and everything was ready in no time. The staff was beyond friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. As for the matcha, it was absolutely delicious, rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced.
