AAPE OSAKA — Local services in Osaka

I visited the AAPE store in Osaka yesterday. The store itself was clean, well-organized, and visually appealing, making it easy to find specific items. However, the stock was limited, with several items unavailable in certain sizes.

Customer service was a mixed bag. One male staff member—who I believe was Korean—was extremely helpful. He assisted me with sizing, offered a sample shirt to ensure a proper fit, and made the shopping experience much more pleasant. Without his support, I likely wouldn’t have made a purchase.

Unfortunately, the two female staff members were not as engaged. They spent most of their time chatting and appeared disinterested, even giving off an unwelcoming attitude that made it uncomfortable to ask questions. While I was browsing downstairs, one of them simply stared without offering any assistance. Their lack of professionalism suggests a need for further retail training.

We've been coming here every time we visit Japan. Unlike Tokyo or Fukuoka, the staff here in Osaka are much nicer and friendly.

But this visit was a bit different. One of the staff who wasn't helping us decided to bring us up when we were about to pay. He was trying to charge 8% of the commission fee, which is unheard of. I asked why, and he didn't say much. He said he has to get a commission for selling items… but the funny thing was that he wasn't the one helping.
