I’ve been going to this salon for a couple of years now, and no one does my hair like Masashi. Trust me when I tell you I give this man a hard time with this much hair— dyeing and cutting it is no easy task. I never liked getting my hair done back home — It always gave me crazy anxiety because stylists didn’t know how to cut or dye my hair properly. I’d end up going home and straighten my curls to hide the damage that had been done. It got to the point where I gave up on finding someone who actually understands my hair and what I want it to look like.

And then I finally found this one gem of a hairstylist: A professional who respects, appreciates, cares for and truly celebrates my hair. He brings my curls and color to life: Vibrant, bouncy, and full of energy. He took my hair from pitch black to a gorgeous blonde balayage, creating this effortless dynamism in my hair and lively look that I’d always dreamed of but never thought I could have.

Every time I leave the salon, I feel like such an empowered queen, and Masashi makes you radiate that energy through your hair. This emotional aspect of the experience has truly been life-changing for me. After years of salon trauma and feeling anxious, self-conscious, and even crying after appointments, I finally found someone who treats my hair like a masterpiece. Now I leave his chair stepping into a confident, empowered, and radiant version of myself. Every. Single. Time.

As a foreign resident in Japan, I honestly don’t think I could ever leave this country—simply because I can’t imagine finding anyone like Masashi anywhere else. I just wish I could have a pocket-sized version of him to take on my travels every time I leave the country for some time.

Trust me when I say that all the people I sent to Masashi feel the exact same way. And all these people come from different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders, hair textures,…. Masashi can work his magic with literally everyone. Masashi just gets it. He’s a gem I want to protect at all costs !!!

Truthfully the best place I have ever had my hair done. I asked for inner colour on already balyage hair(which is super hard to counter), but my artist Masashi did the utmost. From the cut to the colour and toner he paid full close attention to every little detail. Always asking my opinion(though I trusted whatever he envisioned). After correcting all the bleach underneath he then went and make my top layer(that was still balyage) and made it all one colour closest to my natural as I wanted to get the full effect. Finishing off with hair treatment that made my hair feel so much healthier and the most beautiful finishing blowout. The care and love that was put into my hair will be hard to find anywhere else. I would definitely fly once a year to Japan simply for these guys to be my artists. One friend also got a perm by another artist. She had a rough idea of what she wanted but also wanted them to do it in a way that would look good on her. The end result is stunning. It's so healthy and full of volume where she can do so much with it whilst also maintaining that length she had. Truly beautiful. Lastly one of our other friends walked in to wait for us, saw how we were being treated and asked for a haircut. They fit him in that night. My friend has never really had a haircut he's liked before and never knew what to ask so that his hair would compliment his other features. One quick consultation and half an hour if care later and I have never seen him smile so brightly because of his hair. He looks amazing and feels so confident within himself because of it. I'm not usually one to leave reviews but I truly recommend this salon for anyone wanting to do something with their hair and have the highest amount of care and love. Prior to coming to Osaka, I was able to talk to Craive NY through their Instagram page. I sent them a reference photo of what I wanted and they were quick to respond with prices. With less than 2 weeks before my trip, they were able to accommodate me into their busy schedule.

At the salon, I was greeted by friendly staff and was handed off to Masashi. After establishing that I wanted a cut and balayage, he explained the process and made quick recommendations, making sure I was okay with the changes. This was the first time I had ever bleached/coloured my hair, so the entire process took 5 hours. I came prepared and was ready for the long haul, but Masashi was worried that I either hot or uncomfortable while waiting for the bleaching process. He was so kind and kept thanking me for my patience. Even after the 5 hours, I could tell Masashi was tired, but not once did I ever feel like he was rushing to finish my hair. He even offered to style and curl it at the end and gave me set of instructions for how to maintain it.

I have never experienced such exceptional service like this before. Masashi is a wonderful, happy-go-lucky person, who cares deeply for his work. He is clearly invested in being a good stylist, making sure he is hands-on from beginning to end for his customers.
