Honestly since the beginning the overall experience was not going well. I'm a foreign exchange student studying here in Japan and was looking for comfort mexican food to get a taste from home. Our group consisted of 3 people and from the beginning the lady working there attending us was giving us rude stares and a quiet attitude that was really loud. Her facial expressions towards us were not welcoming at all. My Japanese friend spoke for my Spanish friend and I so she had seated us in a smaller area where it seemed kind of uncomfortable for 3 people. The seat kind of cut off your bottom and it was next to these 2 older men so as women to try to squeeze there would be so uncomfortable when theres empty areas other than that. So, my Japanese friend asked her if we could sit where there's a four people table since it was a little more spacious and the restaurant wasn't even busy but the lady said "If you're group of 3 you have to sit here" but the chair sitting area was cut off and it was lowkey a bogus seating considering there were empty spots and there wasn't people there just 3 couples and one even left when we sat next to them. She then continued to say, "if you sit there you can only be there for 90 minutes." Like what that is not welcoming at all considering you don't know how much we're ordering and everyone's special needs. Why are you counting down how long a group can sit there when they haven't even sat down much less gotten their food yet. That was rude and from then she was just like are you guys ready but we were still looking at the menu and we asked for a bit more time and that kind of had a reaction as well. When we were finally ready which wasn't even more than 5 minutes we tried flagging her down with our hand but even that was troublesome in such a small restaurant like idk I feel like McDonald's here gave better more attentive service than such place. The food was mid if im being honest other people say the tortilla was dry and it definitely does taste dry. All traditional items that are usually served with tacos are kind of add ons and honestly not that great. Preferably get something with a sauce or something since it's hard to swallow due to its dryness. The flavor of my beef one was honestly not all great and I couldn't finish the tortilla which says a lot. As a latino idk kind of disappointed but maybe other items are good so you can give...
Read moreDo not recommend! Long explanation but here is my experience. Took forever to find this place come to find out its on the 8th floor. When we got there, they asked if we had a reservation. I said no because nowhere is it stated we needed one. She said ok it's an hour wait, and you have to sit outside the doors in the hall way. I was taken back. They were not even that busy, and I have not seen anything saying to make a reservation ahead of time. So we sat down looking for another place when w min later she said ok we can take you but you can only stay for 1 hour. Like, ok? We sit down, and they bring us some weird chips that were hard to chew. With some sauce that was for the food? It was a red sauce that was so disgusting. I ordered an enchilada platter, and my partner ordered an American burger ( torta). I also ordered chips and salsa that never came. While waiting, the table next to us got their food, and the waitress kept booty bumping the table like hard. When I asked about our chips and salsa, our food came, then our chips and salsa. ( we think they forgot). But again, it wasn't that busy. There were at least 4 to 5 tables empty in this tiny place. The salsa with the chips and salsa did taste homemade, but there was more like onion salsa because holy cow. My enchilada with red sauce and chicken was so gross I almost couldn't eat it. Again, my enchilada was mostly onion with some chicken. Everything on my plate tasted like it was from a can, and they taught them selves how to cook. They also put mashed potatoes corn and 1 broccoli on my plate, which was double weird. My partners torta was hard to chew and covered in sauce. I come from California and my partner from Mexico, and we both agreed the most mexcian thing in there was the beer. I hope Japan does not think this is how mexican food tastes. The server at the end asked how the good was. I told him a 4, and he laughed but didn't seem to suprised. We was was kind made the night. He was very friendly and joked with us a bit. Over all poor quality food and not worth...
Read moreThe restaurant has a really cool dark, smokey vibe that was really fun, but all of the food was very disappointing.
The plain, appetizer chips were served with no salsa, which made no sense. That's like serving a bowl of white rice with nothing to eat with it. We shared many different plates, and all of the dishes that had meats were very dry and under-flavored. The tortillas were all crumbly, which suggests they were old or frozen, which is ironic, because they have a totilla press laying around as decoration. The salad was made up of literal whole leaves of lettuce that were buried under a chicken salad type mixture, which made is extremely difficult to eat. Imagine digging around for a leaf of lettuce, then trying to fold up that soggy leaf into an edible size, bit then giving up entirely and trying to eat it like a taco with chicken salad filling only for it to collapse everywhere and all over your hands because it was too soggy. The chicken enchiladas with mole was literally doused in sweet chocolate sauce with almond flakes on top like a crepe, obviously made just for shock value rather than to serve anything delicious or similar to traditional mole. The patatas con queso tasted like something you would put together out of random leftovers in your fridge (a pile of fries and broccoli with runny tomato sauce and a bit of cheese and sour cream dumped on top, then warmed up). Even though it's a Mexican restaurant, there wasn't a hint of spiciness in a single one of the dishes. Not even a hint of chili. I realize that not all Mexican food is spicy, but it wasn't even an option here. It didn't help that the 'hot sauce' they brought out tasted like the mild taco bell sauce. I'll give them that the guacamole and quesadillas were ok.
I seriously doubt whoever runs this place now has ever been to Mexico or anywhere else that has authentic Hispanic food. It's really unfortunate, since it's such a cool little secret hideout-like restaurant.
But hey, my buddy says the...
