Genuinely and without exaggeration, my girlfriend and I received the worst service of our entire lives at the CDG store in Osaka.

It is unfathomable and disgusting the treatment that my girlfriend received. The worst part is that the employee probably doesn't think he did anything wrong that day.

We entered the store looking for clothes for myself, but my girlfriend ended up finding a t-shirt that she thought was really cute. The shirt said XS, but we both noticed that the sizing looked closer to that of a female M in the United States which is my girlfriend's size.

When attempting to checkout, a short male with bleached/blonde hair in a bowl cut style (think Edna Mode) asked if the shirt was for my girlfriend. After saying yes, he took a very obvious look at my girlfriend then said the shirt wouldn't fit. He proceeded to bring the shirt to the back to see if they had alternate sizes then put the shirt away after seeing no other sizes.

Unbelievable. First of all, this is not some high-end, luxury store where clothing is custom made for certain builds. It was a t-shirt. With that in mind, second, it is not up to the employee to decide whether something fits. That is a decision for the customer to make, and if it ends up not fitting then that is the customer's fault. We are comparing the opinion of someone who looked the customer up and down versus someone who actually lived in their body for their entire life. Surely the latter would know what would fit better. Also, my girlfriend was wearing an oversized sweater and pants. How could he have possibly concluded anything considering what she was wearing? Finally, he was objectively wrong in his conclusion anyways. My girlfriend looked up the direct size comparison between that XS CDG shirt and shirts that she wears for other brands--it would have been a perfect fit.

So not only was he wrong to make an assumption in the first place, he was objectively wrong in the conclusion that he so confidently made. My girlfriend ended up crying on the streets of Osaka, and having a sour taste in her mouth for the rest of our vacation.

To anyone reading this who thinks this write up is dramatic, try imagining yourself in my girlfriend's shoes. You're excited to buy a t-shirt that you find really cute, only to be flat-out rejected based on a quick look up and down. What a horrendous feeling.

To say that this employee's actions were unprofessional is an understatement. The job of these employees is to be accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Rather, he was dismissive, presumptuous, and out of line. In my eyes, his behavior was unacceptable.

I had a very disappointing experience shopping here. When I asked about the availability of a specific size, one male staff member with blonde hair dismissively told me it was unavailable. However, upon checking with another staff member, I found that the size was indeed available.

This lack of professionalism and courtesy is unacceptable, especially when compared to the high standards of service provided by brands like Chanel or Louis Vuitton. I expected much better from this store. Unfortunately, this will be my first and last visit. Because I just realized that CDG actually a racist store. I see the blonde staff really polite to Japanese Customer.

Fast, efficient, and fuss-free service. I appreciated how easy it was—simply show them a picture, zoom in if needed, and the staff immediately know what you are after. It is smooth, no wasted time, no unnecessary chatter.

That said, the store itself is very “Comme des Garçons”: stark black and white minimalism, which is not quite my personal style. But for those who love the avant-garde aesthetic and curated exclusivity, this boutique will likely be a little haven.
