Horrible service from this store. They advice people to order take out because its faster, however they serve the dine in way faster. In fact, they served multiple dine in groups even before serving the take out customers.
The staffs can't even give us an explanation of why this is the case. Can't even give us a proper reason and solve this issue.
Service is awful, can't even settle this issue properly, and continue to serve us this way.
For the record I've been here since 10:30am, and it's 12:10pm currently, without even ordering yet. We were arrived with 4 groups in front of us initially. This kind of waiting time is unreasonable and impossible. How did this store get 4.9 rating review with this kind of system and service? If you ever come here, dine in or wait for hours for your food.
Especially this Staff called Phyo, his management was insanely horrendous with his service and lack of common sense. Despite multiple take out customer voicing our complaints and displease, he did not take action to address this issue. All he said was, 'sorry, wait 30 more minutes'. After 30 minutes, he says 'sorry wait another 1 hour'. What kind of bullshit is this? Utterly rubbish service. For the record, yes, this Phyo employee is the person taking the orders for us. He did not try to resolve this issue, I'm not asking to be given the princess treatment and served like royalty. But this is standard service, no? He said take out takes 10 mins, we queued for an hour, and was asked to queue for ANOTHER HOUR. We were roughly 5th in line since the store service started at 11am. In the end, he refused to speak to us, and arrowed another employee to speak and manage us. This other Japanese employee in the end, finally helped prioritise us take out customers after minutes of pushing for actions to help us, speaking and understanding our circumstances. Still, there should be no need for this kinds of situation to even happen. And if Phyo caused this issue, solve it instead of running away with your tail tucked...
Read moreWow, 5000 reviews and 4.9 stars? Whats with all the hype around this place?!
Thats what i thought when i started queuing for the meal at 1035 on a Saturday. At 1045 the staff came out and handed us the menu while most of the chefs were still in the restaurant having their morning meeting. At 1050+ the manager came out and told us to do an onigiri pose while they take a photo for their instagram stories to announce their opening.
If you are not familiar with ‘Oiishiku-nare Moe Moe Kyun’ a tactic used by maid cafes to have you invested in their bad tasting food, this was it, the emotional investment before you go into the shop… BUT the food here is not bad, its great!!
The ingredients are really fresh and everything is made in-front of your eyes because they sit you at the counter. Theres only about 15 seats available at one time, so when we put in the order, we could see with one eye the chefs prepping it while with the other eye the guests outside wondering when is their turn. In my opinion the manager here is the real star, the charismatic guy who brings the patrons through the shops passion in serving up delicious rice balls at a pretty decent price (lots of ingredients).
By the way the moment they run of out rice, they will stop service and announce it on their stories, if you would like to experience it I suggest coming earlier...
Read moreSuper popular onigiri place. Me, like many others have been influenced by the Google reviews and Instagram videos online. Be prepared to queue for both dine-in and takeaway. Of course, the wait for takeaway is shorter but just be aware to expect a wait regardless. There is a constant stream of people joining either queue. If you have the time to wait, dine-in (I was in the queue for about 1 hour to dine-in). The onigiris are made fresh and were delicious to have warm. Save a small portion of the onigiri to have as chazuke (they’ve kindly posted instructions at each seat). It’s a small store space, so if your group is more than 4 pax just have it as a takeaway. There are probably just 10 seats, all counter seats. The space is too small for a pram or wheelchair - to note if you have accessibility issues or are with a very young child.
Portions were generous. Bursting with filling. Perhaps due to my lack of skill, I generally made a mess (reference pic of my messy onigiri). It’s probably not a first date/early relationship date venue 😂
Service friendly and the staff do try their best to facilitate the seemingly endless stream of customers.
Do note that if you’re getting a takeaway, it is frowned upon to consume your food within close proximity of the store. You will be asked to leave as you’re obstructing other businesses in...
