We had to wait outside for more than 1.5hrs, which would have been fine if the restaurand had been full. However, the restaurant was half empty (see pictures attached) and we kinda just expected to be seated any moment. Honestly, our own fault for not leaving after half an hour.
I didn't really understand why they weren't seating people. To have a bigger hype with a queue outside? They also had a super weird method of letting people in, where they wouldn't let someone in as soon as someone else left, but they waited for 3 different groups to get up and leave and then they would let 3 other groups come in. That meant that sometimes there was 20+ mins where someone could have been inside and already ordering, but they waited for more groups to leave.
Once we got in, we got our food within 30-40 minutes, which is fine - standing outside, right in front of the restaurant, I've noticed it takes quite some time to make these pancakes.
However, I would have much rather sat in a warm restaurant and had a coffee while waiting than standing outside in the cold and wind.
The general organization of the place seemed to be senseless, too. The kitchen seemed heavily understaffed, while the front heavily overstaffed. The last time I saw someone walk as slowly as the 3 waiters here did, was when I got sent to the corner after a fight I had in first grade over a lego brick.
The pancakes themselves were okay. They were definitely fluffy! However, there was a a strong egg taste (omelette-like), which I wasn't a fan of - not sure if this should be the case, tho.
All in all, it was quite an underwhelming experience and I would not...
Read moreWe arrived at opening time (11am) and they were starting to sit people. We had to take a queue number (3rd in line) although the restaurant was half empty and only 1 table had a “reserved” sign. We ended up waiting 1h15mins in the cold and only got seated at 12.15pm although many more customers had left already... Furthermore, after ordering, there’s a 20-40mins wait for the pancakes as they make them upon ordering
Food wise, my soufflé pancakes were not jiggly, very dense and slightly hard/chewy ish… it was not soft and light as you would expect a typical soufflé pancake to be. My friend’s one was soft though, so it seems like their standard may not be consistent. They pair the original pancake with caramel syrup, which I personally found slightly funky. Would’ve much preferred maple syrup/honey to pair with the pancakes instead. We found the milk tea sauce nice and unique though! If you visit the place we would recommend it.
Was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. We were so excited for this meal as it seemed so highly raved, but it did not live up to expectations. However, if you are still keen to try, we would recommend calling in to reserve a table in advance, else you may have to wait for...
Read morewe came here for pancake afternoon tea with our 90 years old grandparent. when we leave , my grandpa want to go to toliet , the staff say it’s occupied and refuse we to go to the male toliet which we already waited here for 7 mins. The short hair female staff ask us to go out side to the other building to go toliet which is raining outside. the female staff claimed the toliet is broken so can’t use. but we figure out that the toliet is NOT BROKEN but only the staff just finish to clean the toliet. Maybe the toliet is just newly clean edand they don’t want the 90y grandpa to go ????? Also , the female staff ask us go to the next building to toliet which we have asked there is no toliet provided. we have no way go to the karaoke to ask for permission of giving us to use the toliet.
how come a restaurant can be like that to let a 90 years old elderly to find a toliet in a street in a windy and rainy evening ?
will never visit again with this POOR and UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE.
Highly disappointed with the un respectful shorthair female staff.
