Who Knew Asakusa Had Such a Gem? Stunning Tower-View Cocktail Lounge

I stayed here my first three days in Tokyo and it was great! Amazing location, walking distance from Senso-Ji temple and very close to Skytree, lots of amazing restaurants nearby and a Lawson Kombini ! The staff was helpful and nice! My fave thing about this place is it had a kitchen so you can make your own meals to save money def a plus for a budget traveler like me , and the bed was spacious and comfy , they also had a bathtub which was amazing for me as my body and feet were achy after long days exploring Asakusa and a trip to Disneysea! 10/10 place My only suggestion would be they place cleaning products somewhere so we can tidy up, everyone isn’t raised the same and some people were a bit messy and also air freshener because there’s like 4 toilets and sometimes people go #2 and it smelled lol also, hooks in the bunks would be helpful for people who have a robe or want their purse/bag on hand ! Edit to add : I liked it here so much I canceled going to Narita and just stayed here my whole time until it was time to go home 🥹😭💯 love this place and would have returned but next trip I’m bringing my daughter and they’re adult only

Visited in December 2023 I loved my stay in Tora Hotel Asakusa, the location of this hotel is strategic though the distance from the metro station is not as near as I expected, it's walkable. My travel plans involved staying in this hostel for one night and then leaving for Hakone for 2 nights stay and then returning to this hostel again for another 3 nights stay - the staffs were understanding and considerate enough to allow me to store my (larger) luggage with them while I was away in Hakone. I stayed in the female only dormitory. To enter, we have to key in a passcode (which I liked because of safety), each one of us have a luggage storage locker, the bed sheets were fresh and clean, hair dryer was provided and the bathroom was clean as well. The dormitory was full but it was calm, there wasn't much noise or disturbance. One night when I came back to the hostel, they're watching some anime movie or something at the lobby, haha fun! Overall, I highly recommend this hostel to all especially solo travellers :)

My stay at Tora Hotel Asakusa offered a mixed yet overall pleasant experience in the heart of Tokyo’s historic Asakusa district. Nestled in a quiet, residential neighborhood, the hostel provides a safe and serene environment, making it comfortable to return late in the evening after exploring the city. The location, while charming and peaceful, is about a 10-15 minute walk from Asakusa Station. For those weary from a day of sightseeing, this distance might feel a bit far, but the tranquil surroundings help balance it out.The dorm-style accommodations are functional, featuring standard metal bunk beds. While sturdy, the beds can be a bit noisy, particularly when someone is moving on the upper bunk, which might disturb light sleepers. The shared facilities are clean, though it’s worth noting that showers are located on the ground floor, which may be inconvenient for those staying on higher levels. Towels and basic toiletries are provided upon check-in, with the option to purchase additional sets if you prefer daily replacements—an understandable policy for a budget-friendly hostel.Storage is provided via metal lockers, which are secure but can generate some noise when accessed, so considerate use is appreciated to avoid disturbing fellow guests. The front desk staff were generally welcoming, though their English proficiency varied. Some were fluent and eager to assist, while others were less confident, which occasionally made communication a little challenging but never insurmountable.Overall, Tora Hotel Asakusa is a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers seeking a safe and affordable base in a vibrant part of Tokyo. While there are minor inconveniences, such as the walk from the station and the shared facilities, the low cost and peaceful neighborhood make it a worthwhile option for those prioritizing value and location. I’d recommend it to backpackers or solo travelers looking for a no-frills stay with easy access to Asakusa’s...

THE HOTEL IS AMAZING!!! (12/10) I would always book again, without any doubt. Stayed there two times yet and from staff, to the beds, lockers with enough space for two suitcases and a little bag or backpack, the hygiene of the bathrooms, to the rooftop, everything is just 12 out of 10. You can also rent a bike if you want to, order breakfast one day in advance, wash and dry your laundry (sometimes it is a little bit of a hassle because there is just one washing machine and one drier) but you are allowed to do your laundry any time you want to, enjoy some drinks at the rooftop with an astonishing view of the Tokyo Sky Tree. The location next to Asakusa Station makes your whole stay and transportation very very convenient. There is also always a chance to meet some like minded people. I hope everyone enjoys their stay just like I did, especially the friendliness and expertise of the staff makes you always feel welcomed, they have a team of wonderful people, who know how to treat their customers. Of course, because its very close to Asakusa Station, it is full of Tourists there on one side, but the good thing is just around the area of the hotel you will feel the life of local people, so you can experience touristic activities and also just walk by the neighborhood and enjoy Sumida and basically go to places where local people go to! There is a very beautiful Onsen very close the the Hotel and its tattoo friendly! If you have more laundry to do there is a spacious and relaxing laundry shop close by (open 24/7) maybe 10-15 minutes AND the hotel is also near to the Oshiage Station, maybe a 15-20 minutes walk, where you can head back to the Narita Airport by train, which is far cheaper than going by shuttle bus/taxi. Personally I would really recommend anyone who has the heart of an explorer and doesn't want to stay in their comfort zone to book this hotel if you want to have a great time in Tokyo and broaden...

Staying at Tora Hotel Asakusa was one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. The staff here don’t just provide service – they genuinely care. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness that I instantly felt like family, not just a guest.

The rooms and facilities are spotless – everything is maintained with the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene, which gave me so much comfort and peace of mind throughout my stay. Every detail is thoughtfully taken care of, making it feel like a true home away from home.

But what truly sets Tora Hotel apart is the staff. Their attentiveness, kindness, and personal touch made my experience unforgettable. They go above and beyond in ways that make you feel seen, valued, and completely taken care of.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would – this is a solid 10/10. Whether you’re visiting Tokyo for the first time or the tenth, do yourself a favor and stay here. You’ll leave with not just memories of Asakusa, but with heartfelt gratitude for the incredible people who run this hotel.

In their reviews I see people said its far from Asakusa Station. No its not.. the closest station is Honjo Azumabashi which is like 5 mins walk. Also the bus 33 and T08 is right outside the hostel main intersection. Like 3 mins walk.. you just have to plan better.. I usually took the 33 bus to go to kumeida or ryogoku station and from their JR lines are pretty convenient. The best part is you can just go to Narita from honjo azumabashi in single train that changes name. Somehow google maps doesn't show it always... but remember to take asakusa train that changes to oshiage and its just 1100-1300 Yen.. direct to terminal.. Also from narita you can do the same. You do not need the express line.. get down at honjo azumabashi...
