Great horror theme room, let down by the signs on absolutely everything.
This was a great experience but only an ok/good escape room. It could easily be much better.
The immersion of the room is great, we have a preference for horror themed escape rooms and this one was the scariest I've come across, we all screamed and ran on several occasions.
The room is definitely solvable within the time limit, but it does seem a bit skewed toward trying to get you to pay for the extra 10 mins. It is good that they give you the solution even if you decide not to pay (unlike at Tokyo Mystery Circus).
As far as puzzles go, it's not the best room. It is mostly finding stuff lying around/ hidden. This would be fine if not for the fact that they adopt a lot of signs in the rooms. Amongst others (not described due to spoilers), they have signs up saying don't touch this. This goes far beyond the usual:power points, switches, a few panels etc; and instead they have stickered almost everything in the room. This creates the problem of sticker over load, making it difficult to know what you're actually allowed to touch (say one half of a 2 panel slide cupboard has a sticker) which means we missed one mandatory clue and so finishing the room was impossible. The other thing it does is make it a bit too obvious where clues are (check the place without a sticker). The other give away is the staff assistant in the room (has tablet that they can show you hints), this person is good as it helps those that don't speak Korean, but they move between rooms a bit and are usually in the room with your next clue.
I don't think the person in the room takes away from the experience much, but they really need to remove some of those stickers. Almost all the places they placed them are just empty cupboards/drawers so there's no harm in opening them.
Would have gone back to do another room if they'd had...

As an avid fan of escape room games, I'm always on the hunt for new experiences — even in a foreign land like Japan. After hours of online research, I found several venues offering unique and challenging puzzles. Real Escape Room Asakusa stood out to me due to its availability.
We didn’t make a reservation beforehand, which I would recommend anyone do. Fortunately, we managed to secure a spot just an hour in advance without being grouped with other players. Our game was the Red Room — the hardest one available — and we walked in as a team of just two.
Our guide was a young lady with bleached hair; she spoke clear and efficient English. The game was designed with accessibility in mind, so anyone could play without understanding Japanese or any other language. You could always ask the guide for hints or clarification at any point during the game.
The game set was well-made, and I found myself fully immersed in it. I also felt deeply engaged thanks to the variety and uniqueness of the puzzles. There was a time limit, and we had to request an extension, which added a small fee — but we emerged victorious in the end.
I appreciated the guide for accompanying us and maybe “helping” a little. While I understand the need for a time limit and extension policy, I wish it were possible to purchase two game slots back-to-back. That would benefit players like me — and many others — who don’t find stressful, time-constrained situations particularly enjoyable. Nevertheless, I’ll definitely make another visit when I’m...
Read moreWe did the Red Room escape game with 4 japanese people, we were 2 foreigners, it was very fun to do it even though we failed, overall mixing japanese people and foreigners was a good idea, but the puzzle was a bit difficult for that kind of situation. We were given by the staff some translators for everybody. I'd say the difficulty is that naturally when you solve puzzles you speak loudly with people around you and they can react to it. But when you are with people that do not understand you and they are speaking with each other, things you'll say to the translator have to be consistent and useful, because you'll loose time to translate and they will loose time to wait for your translation. Therefore we almost did not speak because we did not want to interfere their progression. They are not the problem, they integrated us very well and were so nice to us ! I think that it would be better if mixed groups would have more time or if the puzzle could have levels of difficulty.
There is also something in the game that wasn't obvious at all, that no clues could help figure it out, no spoilers but that was hard for our group.
Overall we had a very good group and had fun doing the escape game !...
