The initial staff was friendly, but my experience soured when changing into our kimonos. One staff member left socks on the floor and walked away, leaving me confused until another staff member pointed them out. When I attempted to remove my scarf, a staff member abruptly opened the curtain without warning, catching me mid-change. Despite the language barrier, basic manners were lacking.
I hung my dress and scarf on available hangers with loose strings, assuming it was acceptable since no proper hanging area was provided.
When the staff saw, she informed me it wasn't allowed. While I complied by folding my items, it would be beneficial to provide more hangers for customers.
After assisting, she left abruptly, as I donned my hijab. A few minutes after she came back with an unfriendly tone, told me to move up when she returned with another customer. I rushed and struggled to pick up my things, with no help initiated from the staff. While I don't want to seem entitled, a little assistance would have been appreciated.
Upstairs, there was no designated area for putting on our scarves, forcing my mom and I to use a cramped corner of the shop. This lack of consideration was disappointing, especially for my first time wearing a kimono.

Read moreWe had the best experience renting kimonos and having our photos taken. We purchased the experience through Klook, and when we arrived at the venue, the lady who assisted us was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She suggested that a higher-quality kimono would look better in the photos compared to the one we had reserved. She wasn’t pushy at all and let us decide what we wanted.
My daughter and I also had our hair styled, and the staff was very efficient. Once everything was ready, our photographer was already waiting outside. The lady who was helping us with the kimono even recommended that the kids wear regular shoes instead of traditional Japanese ones for better comfort.
The photographer was very nice and suggested poses for the pictures. The kids had a great time during the shoot. We got our digital copies within two days. They even sent a reminder asking if we wanted some of the photos edited. We chose not to have any edits because all the shots were already perfect.
I definitely...
