Comic Toranoana Ikebukuro — Local services in Tokyo

My first three visits were fine and I bought things every time, my fourth visit though was unbelievably bad, the store workers must’ve been in a bad mood or something but I went in after going to mandarake, but I realized I forgot to buy a volume of something at mandarake after seeing it in toranoana. I opened my very obviously paid for bag from mandarake to sift through and see if I bought it already, at no point did I bring anything from the bookshelves at toranoana to my own bags, but a female store clerk came up to me and asked to see my bags. I can understand Japanese but speaking it is difficult for me and I very obviously look like a foreigner so she took my bag without any real consent and sifted through what, surprise, was all stuff I already paid for. Gave it back to me and I tried to check one more time IN THE SAME BAG THEY ALREADY SEARCHED for what I was looking for except this time I was checking for a receipt from mandarake and before I even had the chance a different much angrier store clerk comes to me and goes “YAMETE” I have never been treated like a thief so vehemently in my life. This whole time i was also very close to the registers so in no universe would it have even made sense for me to be stealing anything. Id rather not assume this but I’m also a darker complexion foreigner so I can’t help but think perhaps there’s racism involved. I ended up leaving and just going to animate to buy what I needed. Beautiful place. I was enveloped in familiarity and warmth the moment I entered this place. The sense of wonder and awe cannot be replicated. The place was brimming with feminine energy unlike no other; it isn’t the same feeling as when a woman looks at purses or shoes or when at a makeup aisle. This is something else entirely!
