This store is a hidden gem in Aki. I love other stores like Melon Books & Mandarake, but they are often packed. This store has much less people and has a lot of the same books. The first floor is manga and doujins, second is doujinshi and third is adult comics. On the third floor, almost EVERY comic has an open sample next to it so you can browse what you buy before getting it to make sure it's exactly what you want. Very nice considering most shops only show you a small sample or only have a sample book for newly released books.
To all those reviews calling the workers racist, they aren't. It is not an obligation for staff to learn foreign languages or translate to make you feel comfortable. That's a you issue my dudes, you're in a foreign country. Stop being entitled because of YOUR lack of knowledge of a language. There is a service bell to check out on upper floors, they don't hawk watch you or micromanage your purchasing, nor do they sit around waiting to translate porn for you. I will 100% shop here again and be glad to...

The third floor is exclusively 18+ thickbooks, each one has a sample, which customers end up reading in the incredibly narrow walkways.
As for the other reviews regarding the staff's unfriendly attitude towards foreigners, I didn't interact with any of the staff, so I can't attest to that, but there was no one running the checkout on the third or second floor, and apparently you're not supposed to bring goods from the third floor to pay at the first floor.
Overall: good selection poor customer service terrible layout, very...
Read moreThere seems to be discrimination against foreigners, the third-floor staff is quite unfriendly, has a different attitude in responding differently from the locals, and insists that they have their own rules without giving any explanation when buying things When I asked for a refund in less than five minutes after I bought the item, I made the logic that the item I bought became a used one and told him to leave the store immediately. I think I saw it because I couldn't speak Japanese When asked if he could speak English, he said it was possible, but he said in Japanese, saying, "I can't get a refund, so please leave." If you want to buy a book in Akihabara, I recommend going to Melon Books on the other...
