Maya and George have the most lovely jewellery shop, with their adorable dog Storm too. Myself and my fiancé feel so lucky to have had my perfect engagement ring custom made by Maya. From start to finish, Maya made us feel comfortable and welcome and she showed me lots of different options based on what I wanted for my engagement ring. I ended up spotting a beautiful ring in her cabinet which had a really unique kite shaped diamond that I was instantly in love with! Maya listened to everything that I wanted and made suggestions on what would look best for this diamond etc. She was always so accommodating. Maya made wax models of the different bands that we had in mind for the diamond, which made it so much easier to picture how it would look. As we are travelling Japan, we weren’t sure if we would be able to get an engagement ring here due to timings (never mind one custom made!) but Maya made sure that it worked out perfectly. My fiance and I are so honored to have had the opportunity to design our engagement ring with Maya at ileava. While scrolling through her website, Maya’s unique jewelry style captured our hearts immediately, and we knew we wanted to commission a bespoke engagement ring with her.

Since we’re from the US, Maya and I communicated mostly through email. During the design process, she always sent sketches, photos, AND wax models while iterating on the design, which made it very easy to visualize the ring as it was being worked out. Maya was also very receptive to suggestions, which she often flawlessly incorporated into the ring design.

And of course, the ring was cast beautifully; Maya’s intricate metalwork really brought out the best in the ring!

We wanted to buy a ring in Tokyo to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I found this lovely little business online before we left Australia. Once in Tokyo, we visited the store, where we were looked after by the jeweller, Maya, who is fluent in Japanese and English. It's not easy to choose such a precious and significant item, but Maya was so good at guiding us towards the ring we finally decided on. We ordered a simple, elegant band, custom made by Maya, that was then posted to us at our hotel on the other side of Japan - a seamless process!
