MEY HAIR 【English speaking international hair salon】 — Local services in Tokyo

Currently visiting Japan on vacation and while I was here I got my hair bleached at a different salon without understanding how the colors would balance on me, and unfortunately it came out bad and so I came to Mey Hair to fix. Rin is absolutely the best, he speaks English, Chinese, and Japanese so he is very versatile. After assessing the damage done to my hair from the bleach as well as my skin tone and other factors, he gave me an honest opinion as to what color and style would be best attainable without much damage to my hair, something I really appreciate. He walked me through every step and made sure I was comfortable. He also recommended me places to eat and shop for the remainder of my stay in Tokyo, the whole experience overall was just really wholesome and memorable. If I ever come back to Japan (which I hopefully will), I am 100% going to come back to Mey Hair for their amazing staff and services. I truly truly recommend this place for both locals and foreigners, the vibes and work is the best and I have never had such a good hair experience, and this is coming from a native New Yorker! Rin also has a very cute dog named Roy who is the best emotional support...

I had an awesome color makeover experience with Rin!! I am a regular customer at Mey New York but I came into Mey Tokyo while traveling because I had a serious hair disaster to fix 🤢, and I trusted Mey’s expertise and English speaking skills. I had used a cheap drugstore dye that had turned my bleach blonde hair to a really ugly pink. Rin is super laid back and easy to chat with, and he is very knowledgeable about hair color. Rin was great at communicating what he could do to return me to blonde without further damaging my double processed hair. Rin and another Mey assistant were very attentive during the multi hour session, making sure I was comfortable. And the unexpected bonus was hanging out with Roy, Rin’s sweet puppy who hung out on my lap for most of the session 🥹🥹🥹. I came out with the most beautiful greige (grey + beige). I’m so glad I took the plunge with Rin. The before and after speaks for itself, and the color is still holding up many weeks later!! Mey Hair Salon is such a great place where you feel totally comfortable, no matter where you’re from. The staff is super welcoming and can greet you in either Japanese or English, which is a nice touch. There are lockers at the entrance to store your things, which makes everything even more convenient. From start to finish, you are treated with care by the entire team.

My stylist, Narumi, was amazing. Thanks to her professionalism, we were able to figure out a haircut that really suits me. She is so friendly, always smiling, and genuinely kind. You can tell she loves what she does, and that makes you want to come back over and over (and that’s exactly what’s happening)!

Narumi is great with so many different styles and techniques, so I definitely recommend checking her out if you’re looking for a relaxing experience and a haircut you’ll love :))
