Having already done a great safari in Tanzania a few years ago, I had pretty high expectations this time around, taking alone my two children (12 and 10) to their first safari in Kenya. Simon from Wildrace Africa was by far the most professionnal and responsive operator to get back with a quote, a competitive, tailor-made 8-day itinerary in a private 4x4, covering four parks (Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Amboseli & Tsavo East) with a drop-off to our resort in Diani Beach. Simon answered all logistical questions I had within hours (when not minutes!) via Whatsapp, and offered flexibility (downpayment through Paypal, balance in euros rather than USD...). On departure day we met the whole Wildrace Africa team as well as our guide/driver Pascal, whose friendliness, experience, competence and professionalism truly made this safari a unique lifetime experience. Pascal was totally dedicated to our every needs and went out of his way to take us to as many game sighting spots as we wanted, when we wanted. His keen eye even made us witness a live lion hunt moment, an extremely rare scene during daytime. We saw just about every single animal one can see in Kenya, and more! Pascal is an excellent driver, we felt safe throughout the trip, and he regularly shared his extensive knowledge on fauna, flora, kenyan customs, traditions, and language. He was fantastic with my kids. Due to our limited budget we stayed at basic tented accommodations either very close to park entrances, or just inside. All were fine and offered great surroundings, you felt in the middle of wilderness being woken up by exotic birds. The itinerary sold on paper was fully respected, we really got our money’s worth. Everything went smooth and perfect. Needless to say I highly recommend this operator to any western tourist looking for value for money, safety, and comfort. We feel lucky we chose Wild race over the plethora of other operators in Kenya.

We've booked a 12-days tour in Kenya and Tanzania with Wild Race Africa Tours. Our route was Nairobi - Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara - Serengeti - Ngorongoro - Lake Manyara - Amboseli - Nairobi. First we hesitated because of the pandemic situation we are living right now - but we didn't regret our desicion. Simon answered all our questions we had prior to the journey and with Alex we had the perfect guide in Kenya. Alex wellcomed us at the airport and cared very good for us. He is a great troubleshooter and you are lucky to have him as a guide. We've learned a lot about the places we've visited and about the country and its people. Also in Tanzania we had a great guide with China and his son Shidi. We were concerned about the border crossing Kenya-Tanzania-Kenya, but with the help from our guides everything went smoothly. For every border crossing a negative PCR test was required, as well for the return flight from Kenya to Europe. So keep in mind to calculate the waiting time for the results. We booked a budget tour, but at some places we upgraded to a mid range lodge. It's great that you can customize your tour the way you like it. Normally we are individual travelers - it was our first experience with a organized tour. We enjoyed to just sit back - and don't worry about were to sleep or eat next. The organization was perfect - the food was yummy - the lodges were fine too! So we could 100% foucs on the beautiful nature and spotting wild animals. If you think about doing a safari in this complicated times, but you're unsure about all the covid regulations - I really recommend to do it. Of course it's a bit more complicated and bureaucratic - but it definitely is worth!

SCAM - do not book, you don't get what you pay. We booked a Safari in Tanzania (Luxury), everything seemed ok and professional until we paid the down-payment and got in Tanzania. The first day we arrived:

  1. itinerary was completely changed (they said due to availability, even if they confirmed the plan and bookings with the downpayment months ago), resulting in a less efficent tour (hours lost compared to original plan), but less fees for them as we spent less time in parks.. they told us this change only when we were departing for safari, so we had to accept
  2. the same day (we arrived) they also told us they changed from a Luxury lodge (Lobo) to a mid-tent (Kati kati)..we potested and they told us lobo was ok; the day we were departing for Lobo they tried to propose to us Savannah (another mid tent) and we said no, so they told us Lobo had problems in availability..we told them to stick with original plan or gave them an alternative luxury lodge (matawi, in which we stayed and liked): they said ok matawi but at 6.30 pm., when we were in front of the lodge, they sent our driver to Osupoku (a mid-tent) against our complaints and we had no chance since the park was closed..at the end they succeded in sending us to a cheap mid-range camp (which we always said no and we paid way more to have a luxury lodge) instead of a luxury lodge we paid for..and they even said it was our idea!!! we protested and promised a refund, never happended
  3. the car they gave us was rubbish, having broken differential, battery and fuel mixer from beginning (we had to push the car from day 1 every time to make it start), had no long range radio, no emergency kit, no binocular. Every day there were 2 more problems with the car (day 1 broken radiator, day 2 broken tire support, day 3 broken roof top support, day 4 broken fuel tank) and the car was completely given broken and full of problems. Every day we went to a different mechaninc and waited hours stopped on the road
  4. in Ngorongoro we spent only 2 hours (instead of a full morning) and with a Masai not speaking english and not knowing where to go as the car let us down (even if we espressly requested to be changed or to be checked the day before for Ngoorongoro as it was having problems).

We raised all these problems and all the said was that the car problems were maybe 'immaginary' and that we choose the change of accomodation and that they did not changed the plan,... SCAMMERS AND LIERS..you will loose money booking with them,...

I am writing to share my 6-day trip experience in Kenya. From start to finish, my experience with Wild Race Africa Safaris was nothing short of exceptional and genuinely unforgettable.

First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team for their unwavering dedication and professionalism throughout the trip. From the moment I inquired about the tour to the final day of our adventure, every interaction with their staff was met with efficiency, friendliness, and a genuine desire to ensure our utmost satisfaction.

Simon meticulously planned the itinerary for our 6-day trip, offering a perfect balance of wildlife safaris, cultural experiences, and breathtaking landscapes. Our knowledgeable guide, Alex, provided us with valuable insights into Kenya's rich culture, history, and wildlife, making each day an enlightening and educational experience.

I must also commend the accommodations and dining arrangements wild Race Africa Safaris provides. The lodges we stayed in were comfortable and luxurious and offered stunning views of the surrounding wilderness. The meals prepared for us were delicious, showcasing the flavors of Kenyan cuisine and catering to all dietary preferences.

One of the most thrilling aspects of the trip was the wildlife encounters. From witnessing the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara to spotting the Big Five in their natural habitats, every game drive was a unique and unforgettable experience. Our guide's expertise ensured that we were able to observe these magnificent animals up close while respecting their natural environment.

In conclusion, I can wholeheartedly say that my 6-day trip with Wild Race Africa Safaris exceeded all expectations and left me with cherished memories that will last a lifetime. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking for an authentic and immersive safari experience in Kenya.

Thank you once again to the entire team at Wild Race Africa Safaris for making this trip unforgettable. Your efforts and dedication did not go unnoticed, and I am truly grateful. I look forward to traveling with your company again in the future and exploring more of Kenya's...
