After an afternoon hike at Sireh Park, we headed to Jing Hoe Mei Restaurant in Bukit Indah for dinner, absolutely famished. The place was already quite crowded, and the tables and chairs are packed fairly close together — it helps them seat more people quickly, but it does make the dining environment feel a bit cramped and less private. That said, we were still shown to a table almost immediately, which was impressive for such a busy evening.
We ordered a feast: pork knuckle, a steamed fish, steamed meat, and two vegetable dishes. Everything arrived surprisingly fast, fresh from the kitchen and piping hot. The star of the meal was definitely the pork knuckle — a rare sight in a Chinese restaurant. It was excellent: crispy skin, a nice layer of fat, and tender meat with no porky smell at all.
The other dishes were just as good. The fish was delicate and fresh, the steamed meat well-seasoned, and the vegetables perfectly cooked. Best of all, the flavors were rich but clean — no heavy MSG, as none of us felt parched afterward.
All in all, Jing Hoe Mei is definitely worth a visit. Fast service, hearty portions, and consistently delicious food — just be prepared for a bustling, tightly packed dining area. We’ll definitely be back, and that pork knuckle is going to be a...
Read moreA restaurant that specialises in steamed dishes, especially their Song Yu fish head. The minimum size of a fish head is 900g, which comes to RM40. The fish is very fresh, telling from the sweetness and smooth texture. There is also a decent amount of fish fats beneath the head. The only dislike i have is that there are a lot of bones. Need to be very careful. The steamed herbal chicken is pretty flavourful with the right level of herbal taste. The chicken meat can be easily separated from the bones. Steamed minced pork with salted fish portion is a bit small, recommend to order a larger portion if sharing. Taste wise, not bad. The stir-fried royal chives beansprouts with salted fish is mostly made up of beansprouts. But at least the vegetables taste fresh. Overall, the food is above average and the...
Read moreCame with friends after reading great reviews about this restaurant. The place was crowded when we arrived but we managed to get the last table for 7 without making reservations. Ordered 6 dishes. My favorite is the steamed red grouper with garlic sauce. The fish is fresh and the garlic sauce is addictive. Even the people who don't like garlic found this dish very nice. The other dishes that I liked were the salted egg prawn and the steamed minced meat with salted fish. The service staff and the boss were very service oriented and polite. The only set back here is that there are no toilets in the restaurant but toilets are within the shopping complex. Will definite return here for food whenever we are in...
