⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unique Conveyor Belt Dining – Fun Experience, Moderate Food Quality

Visited with a group of four last Saturday during a brief but heavy rainstorm. Unsurprisingly, the place quickly filled up and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Still, the organisation was impressive, with staff managing the crowd efficiently and keeping things moving.

This restaurant is clearly designed for quantity and value, not fine dining. You can order dishes via QR code on your phone or, more enticingly, pick from a conveyor belt that runs throughout the restaurant. It's constantly stocked with sushi and small bites that many customers help themselves to — a clever, fast-paced system that adds fun and spontaneity to the experience.

From a business perspective, this setup is a winner. It keeps turnover high and encourages diners to keep sampling. It’s a unique concept that’s worth experiencing, especially for those new to this kind of dining.

As for the food, it’s acceptable but nothing special — what you’d expect from an industrial-style kitchen: consistent, mass-prepared, and more functional than flavorful. If you’re after authentic or gourmet Japanese cuisine, this isn’t the place.

Cleanliness is average, and the service is efficient but not particularly warm or welcoming. At the end of the meal, a staff member comes by to count your empty plates to calculate the total — again, efficient but impersonal.

We paid MYR 95 for four people, including four standard teas (MYR 1 each), which is excellent value given the novelty and variety offered.

In short, a place I’d gladly recommend for the experience — it’s fun, fast, and efficient — but not somewhere I’d return to for the pleasure of the food itself. Ideal for bringing visitors or trying...

Dissatisfaction with the service and cleanliness standards I experienced at your Mentai Sushi Bukit Indah on [17 Sep 2025]. ​Upon being seated, I noticed that my chair had a noticeable oily stain. When I politely brought this to a staff member's attention and requested that it be cleaned, I was met with a look of visible annoyance. The staff member then proceeded to wipe the stain with only a tissue, which was ineffective and left the chair in the same unsanitary condition. This lack of effort and unprofessional attitude was very disappointing. ​I understand that busy periods can be challenging, but a basic standard of cleanliness and a respectful response to a customer's request should always be maintained. Extremely value for money! Didn't think that can have nice and cheap sushi in JB. Would recommend to go for the salmon sushi (raw or mentaiko) and ebi ones. Especially liked the salmon mentaiko and ebi with fried sprinkles on top. Also liked the age tofu.
