I went in for a routine root touch up and wash and blow dry with Jack. The director you book with is never involved so frankly theres no point booking a specific stylist. You will be handed over to 2 or 3 random assistants. The assistant i had was brand new and couldnt blow dry properly. I told the assistant politely to ask Jack to come so that i can ask for a proper blow dry. Instead of showing up, Jack sent another assistant (tall, transgender assistant - dont know his/her name). The second assistant came in visibly annoyed at having to do a blow dry and started blow drying in anger. Thick sections of hair poorly wrapped around the brush and pulling away with a discourteous scowl on his face. I told him/her that this is a very rough blow dry please dont pull and instead of an apology all i got was a rude ‘Ok! Ok!’. At the end of this at the reception i complained to Jack ….and all he did was stand there and stare right into my eyes, no apology, no attempt to make things right - and i have been his client for 2 years now. He just stood there and stared. And at the end told me that he wont charge for todays service which was RM 159 worth. That was the only gesture that he did to pacify. But i am not a freeloader. The point is not the measly RM 159 that he helped me save. The point is the disrespect from that rude entitled transgender assistant who frankly should be fired for bad attitude. He/she also needs to be reminded that customers pay for the salary he gets and he at minimum owes them dignity and respect and should be ashamed of himself/herself for the way he was pulling and brushing and tugging on my hair as if i owed him money. Number76 is a trusted high value brand. They should firstly coach these assistants on basic manners and their so called directors like Jack should know better than to just stand and stare when a customer is expressing concerns. I am honestly surprised that after all these years in business Jack stood there staring like a deer caught in...
Read moreSUCH A WASTE OF MONEY! I'm a tourist and I heard so much about this salon and really wanted to do blue highlights and my mom wanted regular highlights with a bit of purple, we went in person to make an appointment for both colour and a treatment they said it can be done, so we went the next day and told them what we wanted, first thing they said the dye won't work for me or my mom cause our hair was dyed "red" before! They just saw us the day before and didn't mention anything about our hair not being good for colouring EVEN PLAIN HIGHLIGHTS CAN'T BE DONE. I even asked them on Instagram with a picture of dark hair like mine with the colour I want and they said it's totally okay NEVER MENTIONED that red dyed hair can'tbe colored! How does a salon completely deny any colour?! Apparently any light color we chose will need too much bleach that may ruin our hair,( our hair is not damaged at all). I have self dyed and bleached my hair purple before in my house and it was perfect so how can such a salon say they can't do any coloring?! I asked for a different colour they still said no. So we said we'll just do a treatment. Me and mom did different ones for scalp and hair and her head is super itchy and hair falls as it used to after doing an anti-itch and anti-hair loss treatment! Her scalp is full of dandruff now and she walked out of there not even feeling relaxed. The styling was meh 5 mins after leaving her hair became frizzy and the curls fell as if she was never at a salon. Her stylist didn't even ask to put a setting spray for her! Mine was a bit better but just 2 days later my head is itchy again and mine was also to relieve itch and dandruff. We paid RM1,000++ for this. Total rip off totally would not...
Read moreHad a haircut at this branch and I absolutely dislike the result.
The front desk and assistants were pretty alright. Despite language barrier, the assistant and I had an enjoyable conversation but it was different for the stylist.
At first, he was friendly but changed gradually. I’ve requested to cut 2 inches, slightly curve at the end, add layers if he sees fit, and don’t want a straight or neat hair because I tend to curl my hair. He was agreeable and looked positive.
After hair wash, realised that I’ve forgotten to inform my preference to avoid using blade for hair thinning. Sounded, and that was when his attitude changed. Then, I tried to use mandarin to communicate and he responded “why now you can speak mandarin?”. Worried that I might have already offended him in some ways so I kept quiet throughout the process. Side note, he was quite rough when blowing hair while his assistant was gentle.
Towards the end of the cut, I asked him to trim the fringe slightly and diagonally, no bangs. Regretted.
Usually at the end of the haircut I’d request to show the final look but after observing, I knew it will be bad.
Do not apologise. It was my decision to book with your senior director stylist thinking that it shouldn’t be a problem because I haven’t encountered any issues with number 76 directors in singapore.
I’ll get it fixed in singapore.
The pictures were freshly taken after exiting the salon. Director cut but turned out to be a choppy work. It looks sadder now after washing. Not even c curl hair blow or curling iron can hide the choppiness.
Once again, waste of money and hair. One good thing is that at least my hair...
