Mellah spice market — Local services in Marrakesh Prefecture

This little corner of the bigger spice market is simply the best. It's inside what was once upon a time a hotel, shops are located on what was the courtyard, but you can see the upper floor where the rooms used to be. It's extremely atmospheric and a great place for photos. Anwar, who has the shop right in front, when you enter the courtyard, is incredibly helpful and speaks good English. He will guide you through his whole assortment of spices, teas, oils, soaps, etc, if you ask him to. Many locals shop here, and prices are not "spiced up". There is one shop outside just outside which was really lovely. There are prices on all the products and the staff were lovely. But inside the market was a different story.
