Stromma — Local services in Amsterdam

We used the IAmsterdam card to book a 90 minute cruise with this company. Check in was quick and a boat stopped there every 25 minutes. We waited 7 minutes when a cruise boat pulled over an picked us up. The boat was maybe half full giving everyone their own table and room to spread out. It took me a minute to relax from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam, yet once I did, I realized I was having the time of my life. I don't know how the captain navigated the tight turns and obstacles, yet he made it look easy. I would say he's been doing it for decades. A pre-recorded message played when we hit certain areas, so we always knew what we were looking at. It played in both Dutch and English.

The historic homes along the canal take your breathe away. I compare it to the Rainbow row in Charleston or the homes surrounding the squares in Savannah. Amazing!

We stopped by a dock near Central Station where there was a line of 100+ people waiting to get onto a Lovers Canal Cruise ship. We took on no new people. The folks crammed onto the lovers boat did not appear to be having as good of a time as we were.

We had dinner reservations in the Jordaan and as the Trams did not run there, we were concerned about navigating on foot. After at least 90 minutes on the cruise, we hear that we are passing through the Jordaan and then the captain pulled over to a dock. We got off with another couple and low and behold, the restaurant we had reservations at was right in front of us! This hop on / hop off service really worked in our favor.

If you have an IAmsterdam Card (And you should), use these operators. Keep walking past lovers. Just too many people hitting up the big company. Thanks to Stromma for providing a wonderful experience. Keep up...

We enjoyed our canal tour very much. The canal tour is included in the purchase of a Hop Off Hop On Bus Ticket by Stroma. It was a lovely way to see Copenhagen, Denmark. Unlike the Hop On Hop Off Bus Tours, the Canal Tour has a live guide- Much Better! Our guide, Aterine was AWESOME. She pointed out all of the sights of Copenhagen during the tour, while sharing interesting historical perspectives. It was so helpful that the commentary was in English as well. During the tour, there are several low bridges, and Aterine was careful to remind everyone to sit down for safety. The tour lasts about an hour and we enjoyed every minute of it. Stromma should provide live guides for their buses too- it really DOES make a difference! Traveling by boat through the canals of Copenhagen was a magical journey and in my opinion, the best way to see the beautiful city...

Wonderful experience of the Amsterdam canal. We took this evening boat cruise with dinner and drinks. What an exceptional value. We were served an incredible dinner and unlimited drinks all evening. The cruise was a total of about 2.5 hours and took us right around the canal. We were both very full and satisfied. The salad was very good, the main dish and meat dishes were both perfection. I was especially impressed by the red pepper cappuccino which was a red pepper soup with a cream frothing to top. It actually felt and looked like a cappuccino. We were both very happy to have done this and would recommend to anyone as a great way to see the city at night, and an enjoy a dinner that has more value than most regular...
