Most of the staff are friendly! The men are not as warm a welcome as the women were! We booked a room with a balcony and confirmed it would be a balcony when we went early to check in and left our luggage when we collected our room key the woman mentioned you are not to step out onto the balcony unless it’s a fire emergency - this was laughable when we got to our room and it a box room with no balcony anyway. We didn’t bother fussing for the balcony in the end because they aren’t so helpful when it comes to room facilities although they did supply us with an adapter as I forgot mine (€25 fee if lost) Luggage storage available. Powerful shower , plenty of towels and room cleaning offered each day You can come and go as you please throughout the night once you have your keycard
Negatives Small room no space for anything other than coming in and settling on the bed(this was fine with us) very little storage space in the actual rooms, so little we didn’t bother unpacking in the end.
Dark room which is nice in the evening and a warm feel to it but the option for a brighter light bulb or lamp is easily done and would really help as an option- mooDy lighting Makes you fuss less about what you’re wearing atleast haha
No bin for rubbish other than bathroom bin, which was tiny they love small in this place- the coffee cups are espresso cups and hold about 30 ml of liquid they can’t even fit the teabag supplied!
No plug points near the Tv this was a big sad for us because we brought our chrome cast for the trip as they don’t have smart TV and we couldn’t plug it in.
The location is fabulous though- supermarket, dominos, Starbucks, stach, and bike /skate rental and park basically on same stretch of the road as the hotel , it’s a 5 minuet walk to leidsplein Square and virtually a half hour walk to the dam Sq and lots of other quaint places within that walk frame
Our fave local coffee shop: The rookies (10 minuet walk from hotel) Fave pizza place: pizza beppe (five minuet walk from hotel)
Best coconut macaroons ever : stach cafe (5 mins from hotel)
Best bike rental and great prices: otto Bikes its about 10+ minuets walk down from hotel and €7.50 for 4 hours or the day can’t remember. really good quality bikes, not...
Read more‼️ The hotel marked this review as inappropriate even though I wasn't using any profanity and simply describing the truth. That should tell you enough about their trustworthiness in advance.
Aside from the location and the friendly staff, there’s nothing to praise about this hotel. Me and my partner were hoping to get a room in a cabin-like look, just like it’s shown in the advertisement pictures. Instead, we got a room downstairs with a view that would barely let us see the daylight and an interior that looked just like a standard boring hotel room. The breakfast looked really underwhelming for the price of 18€ per person which is why we didn’t try it. But the real disappointment was the room service. We came back from a daytrip and found our suitcase snooped through. Someone went through our stuff and threw some of our clothes on the bed, which they didn’t bother to make either. The floor wasn’t vacuumed and the cups we had used in the mornings only got rinsed under water, which didn’t remove most of the dirt in them. The only normal thing that the room service did was to change our towels- which we didn’t ask for because we left them hanging on the shower, which was supposed to symbolised that we didn’t want them changed. We know that it was the room service and not a room raid because nothing got stolen. We were absolutely shocked by what happened which is why we didn’t let the room service into our room again during the whole stay. When we complained about the experience at the reception, the guy was very shocked, claiming something like that had never happened before. He told us that we could speak to the supervisor the next day to solve the issue. We never got to talk to the supervisor because, as crazy as it sounds, we didn’t stay in the hotel room all day to wait until someone would reach out to us. They didn’t tell us at what time we could meet the supervisor or anything like that, so it simply never happened. Some other things to add are that the walls are pretty thin and privacy basically doesn’t exist because all the windows face towards windows of other rooms, so we had to close the curtains basically all the time to avoid...
Read moreStayed here 4 nights on 04/Jan to 08/Jan/2024. Base on the previous guests reviews, small room, lighting also dim, yes they are true. There is a hanging rack with 4 hangers to hang your clothes. A small cabinet right after you entered the room and a coffee maker with a electric kettle placed on top on it. Nice shower, comfortable sleep. Great location as eateries are nearby, also a short walk to Leidseplein which is convenient. Easy transport to and fro from airport and tourist attractions. Overall this hotel is a great value for tourists. The only downside was I'm dissatisfied with the check in process. We reached the hotel too much early and was asked to keep our luggages there and come back again at 3 pm. I understand and it was okay for me. We returned to the hotel 15 mins before 3pm, but the hotel front desk refused to check us in. Alright, we have no choice to sit at the waiting area beside the check in counter and wait for time goes by. But 5 minutes later which is 2.50pm, we noticed new guests coming in were allowed to check in to their room without waiting. I felt something like neglected. I stood up and walked to the lady who attended us earlier, but she put me standing there for around 10 mins busy with the check in process for another new guests. She owed me an explanation. I am not happy with this. We finally got our room key attended by her colleague.Due to the above uneasy experience, I give only 2 stars. I don't mind waiting but please do not neglect me. Front line staff always represent the professional image of an organization. It can be either you ruin it or you keep it. Other than that, considering the location of the hotel, it is still...
