The Pancake Club…what can I say about this place? First of all, this was recommended by our hostess at the bed and breakfast that we stayed at in Amsterdam. She said specifically do not go to just any place for Dutch pancakes, pannenkoeken & poffertjes. This one is located right across the canal from the Heineken tour place. It was also pointed out to us as we took a boat tour of the canal. My date and I ordered a large order and a small order of the pancakes with strawberries. I love pancakes and these are simply the best I've ever had. We both said after our first bite, " these are the best pancakes I've ever had." They are served warm with some kind of a butter topped with powdered sugar and a side of cream and just the right amount of strawberry sliced up on the side. They are absolutely amazing! Definitely, definitely come here when you're in Amsterdam. The restaurant at South is also super cute. There are tables outside right along the canal. It's just a beautiful setting with specialty item. I would love to somehow get this recipe. It's truly unlike anything I've ever eaten before. The only thing that could have been improved is the service. It seemed to take a long time to get waited on but once we were the pancakes came out quickly. So small complaint and...

This place was not worth the wait and definetly not worth the pancake. Everyone always hypes up the pancakes in Amsterdam and we saw great reviews for this location. When we showed up, they told my girlfriend and I 45 minutes with four people ahead of us and from sitting down and ordering till we got our food. We decided to stick it out. We got seated quickly as there was not enough staff for customers they had. We waited awhile to even put in an order, mind you, they didn't have enough staff for a Saturday. We finally ordered our drinks and pancakes and waited. The location and sitting outside is amazing, but that was about the only amazing thing. The coffees came out and they were just average. We waited and waited and waited for our pancakes and let me tell you, it was so average and it was cold. We saw numerous other groups that were behind us being seated being served and we waited and mind you, my pancake never even showed up until we asked. Once I asked for our check and decided to just go grab something else, the gentleman insisted on giving me the pancake but still waited 15 minutes for it.

For 50 euros, is it worth it, no. Recommendation, if you want Poffertjes get them at a...

We visit Amsterdam every year but this was our first time getting Dutch pancakes at The Pancake Club. Between the name and the round “flying saucer” style building, our expectations were a bit low, but boy were we wrong! Everything about this place was fabulous! The woman who waited on us (Lydia?) was lovely, very friendly and helpful with our order. They have good coffee, offered mimosas and other beverages, and a great selection of Dutch pancakes. We had one pancake with apples and bacon, managing perfectly our request to go easy on the cheese. My pancake was ham and caramelized onions with the standard amount of cheese on top. Let me tell you… they were both FABULOUS!! Much thinner than other pancakes we’ve had in Amsterdam, more like a crepe than a pancake, and the pancakes were executed perfectly with the right amount of ingredients in each. Both combinations were incredible and a little syrup on the one with apples & bacon had our eyes rolling back in our heads (I'm salivating writing this review)! Don’t be fooled by the location, name, etc, The Pancake...

We came here as it was close to our hotel and had scenic views, but left after being told that there was a 50 minute wait for food and drinks (should’ve been a red flab because why were they still taking customers). We returned the next day and had the poffertjes (10 for 7€), the Nutella pancake (12€) and the cheese and ham (16€). The poffertjes were great and good value however the pancakes were so disappointing and overpriced that it just left us thinking that we could have bought flour, cheese, ham and Nutella for under 5€. The worst thing was when we asked for our check and on top of the unreasonably expensive food we got charged for tap water ?? How can you charge for something that is literally free everywhere in the city. If we had known, we could’ve just stuck to drinking from our water bottle. This is definitely a place to skip, go to food markets if you want to try a great but reasonably priced pancake.
