Mamie Gourmande — Restaurant in Leiden

Usually this was the place for us to get wonderful sandwiches, sadly the quality has gotten worse and worse in the recent months and we were hoping it was a temporary thing and we were just getting sandwiches at the wrong time of day or something.

Whilst the chicken still had some stuff on it and looked kind of fresh, the brie sandwich was made up of stale bread, wilted rocket and 3 tiniest walnuts with a small splash of honey... I'm all up for not throwing food away but that is not the €6 eu sandwich I expected... very sad that this is happening. All the other stuff is delicious, hopefully this review will reach the manager so they can make great sandwiches again and we can call this our favourite...

had a funny experience here a few days ago...it was around 4pm and i was looking for some olive bread, knowing that i was, very likely, too late. sure enough this place was sold out. on the way out i notice 2 loaves in one of the display cases near the door, of what was listed as 'herb bread'...there was one large and one small...both the same price. i asked for one and the woman there gave me the smaller one. i didn't say anything, but...didn't think it was good business practice...the bread, itself, turned out to be nothing special... i don't think i'll be going by...

This bakery was tricky to find as I had to make two trips to find it . Nonetheless the almond croissants tastes heavenly although they are quite rich & filling. I tried almost everything from salmon quiche, artichoke quiche, their eclairs, chocolate tarte, puff pastry,delicious coffee. I enjoyed almost everything they had. This place is like a treasure , loved their baked goods . The staff is friendly too. You need to go in early & grab whatever you want as people line up and the stuff gets...
