They really need to improve their reservation system and they don’t take walk-ins at all, no matter what time you arrive, so make sure to book ahead, if you can even get a reservation.
Another strange policy: if you ask them to cut your pizza, they’ll refuse “for hygienic reasons.” I don’t understand this logic, the person making the pizza handles the dough and toppings already, so why is cutting it considered unhygienic? Instead, they bring a pizza cutter to your table so you can do it yourself. I understand that a Napolitan Pizza is served like this, but if a costumer asks you politely , why do you refuse?
Also, based on how they respond to reviews, it seems they’re never willing to accept feedback. Their replies often place blame back on customers, for example, telling someone that if they were warned food might take a while and still chose to stay, it’s their own fault. That’s not a great look for customer service, and makes lots of sense, seeing how they waiter (specially the host) service can be very rude sometimes.
Ah, and the pizza is good. But no sure if...
Read moreRagù has moved to a new location to where until recently (December 2024) Pizzeria Sorrento was located on the corner of the Hoge Woerd/Watersteeg 2). So the restaurant is not tiny anymore 😁 (no terrace anymore though), and the place is still popular, when I went it was packed so be sure you made a reservation before you go! Initially I was rather disappointed because despite my reservation I was placed at a table at the backside of the restaurant (and not all the tables at front were occupied) so I asked whether it was possible to relocate to the front when a table would be available. Luckily finishing halfway my beer, the waitress already saw an opportunity to relocate us 🙏🙏. Quality of the food is authentic and prepared with care. Many vegetarian options! I highly recommend...
Read moreThey just moved to a new place about 50m away. But the service is terrible! I came on Friday for dinner and the restaurant looked crowded! However, I still waited at the door to ask if there was a chance of a seat (I did not know if they have more place inside). However, I waited for 10 minutes at the door and no one greeted me or asked me what I needed. The waitress still went to take orders from other tables, I saw the manager (maybe) and the chef (or bartender) standing looking at me, I waved my hand but they ignored me. I don't understand how in a 15m2 area there are 3 staff and they leave customers standing at the door without a greeting. The food may be famously good but the service is terrible!...
