BROOKLYN Burgers & Steaks, Restaurant Scheveningen Boulevard — Restaurant in The Hague

We just had our meals at this restaurant and I would like to say it was the worst we had ever. We sat at the restaurant 12.40 and we ordered our drinks and told them that we want to eat. After 20 minutes waiting they came and took our order which was a Mexican hotdog and a tosti with ham and cheese. Also we ask water for our dog. We had to ask another 3 times for that water and finally after 30 minutes they brought it to us. Our food came 2 :25. An hour and a half later. For that 1 hour and a half nobody came to our table to apologise , to ask us for another drinks or simply to ask if everything is okay. We quickly finished our food with the same drinks we had for 2 hours and asked for the bill. We had to wait another 20 minutes for somebody to bring our bill. I tried to ask for a manager but later I realise that the waitress that came 3 times to our table for 2 and half hours was accually the manager. Her name according to the bill is Adalie. Cute restaurant, but had the same bad experience with the lack of service expediting the food. We went at lunch on a Sunday around 13:45, only front section being seated. They only had 2 servers working the floor. We ordered a bowl of soup and the fried balls and then waited close to an hour for our meals- 2 burgers and two kids meals, at lunch. We asked the server about our meals after watching two other large groups get served theirs, who placed their orders after us, and were told we had to wait since we had appetizers. They should disclose that it will be a longer wait in that case, up front. I've been a server and feel this came down to putting the orders in on time. Not to mention the managers or leadership shouldn't leave the staff so stretched that they can't execute good service. At least the servers were never rude, though I'm sure they were overwhelmed having to also bus their own tables, greet customers...

Ate here for the first and last time today. The initial waiter who served us was lovely, very friendly, helpful and a credit to the restaurant but after that it went downhill.

I ordered the wagyu burger and when it arrived the burger was warm, not hot and definitely not fresh and tasted cheap. The salad looked like it had spent the day relaxing on the terrace enjoying the sun.

When we asked for the bill I asked to speak to someone about the food quality and when the shift manager arrived she was instantly defensive. Questioning why I’d waited so long to complain and if it was that bad why was one plate almost finished (my husbands burger was ok, he had the chefs burger). In the end the wagyu burger was taking off the bill and I was appreciative of that but overall I’d avoid this place. Go to McDonald’s down the road, you’ll get better food...
