A regular sized Mall with most shops you need. It has an overall different and interesting layout than other malls in the area. Even though it has your regulars like Countdown and The Warehouse it also has alot of food places that are more like mini versions of restaurants and really good cafés, but not all clumped together like a regular malls Food court as it winds around the mall. My fave is the Japanese eat in or take out where they have sushi but also a full hot food menu, where you can see them cook your meal in front of you on a hot grill. Plenty of Parking and absolutely no issues with wheelchair access or parking. It has a really good BK and a good KFC all together, inside and outside the actual mall on the top level of parking. Recently I just had my 1st Covid-19 vaccine here and it is extremely well organised with minimal wait times. We were early to our appts and they let my hubby and I go straight through as a couple to the same cubicle with the person administering the jabs to us both, with info, then a very spacious waiting area, where you have to sit for 15mins after the injection. I find it to be a good and kinda quirky mall but I do like it a lot. Solid 4 stars. Not 5 stars, purely because winding your way around the mall can be a pain if you're...
Read moreThe major downside to this shopping center is that the carparking below is managed by a private company who are quick to issue fines and do so at much higher penalty rates than city council infringements. These are detected by numberplate recognition with penalties for extending past the maximum time period which is 3 hours. They monitor this by having cameras on the entry and exit points and if visiting more than once in a day it can attract false recognition of a violation with the system failing to detect that the vehicle has left and returned again in this timeframe. They do waive the fine when this happens but it's still a real pain as they are not very easy to make contact with and requires administration to resolve. A really big thumbs down on this one. The desire to ensure that vehicles in the carpark belong to those frequenting the shopping center is understandable however privatized parking enforcement also is also a deterant for genuine shoppers. For many it simply isn't worth the potential for encountering these problems and is easier to shop somewhere else that doesn't come with the possibility of incurring grossly inflated...
Read moreBe careful, they are using a photographic system by Enforceiq to monitoring car parking which is prone to error - i went in the morning to goto the gym then left, and then came back in the afternoon to pickup a birthday cake and left again, no more than 1.5 hours in total. The parking enforcement pings me for $65 and said i was there for 6.5 hours. They need to sort this out and get the system to be correct, none of this "try and fine bullshit". That is taken advantage of vulnerable customers. I appealed the made up fine - and got the fine removed - something smells with this enforceiq crowd. Contacted the Highbury Shopping Center website via contact form, lets see what they say about shaking down their customers - its not acceptable to send out incorrect bills. I think for trying to shakeme me down for $65 they should donate that to the...
