I booked my partner and I in for a much needed massage. My partner absolutely loved his massage, his masseuse was amazing and well experienced. She got rid of the tension in his shoulders and back ache. He was sooo satisfied and happy with the experience

However, I had a very different experience, a poor one. I left feeling like I wasted my time and money. My masseuse was clearly inexperienced, she was trying to mirror my partner's masseuse; inconsistent pressure was applied throughout the massage, absolutely no flow to the massage. More than once, she just sliding her palms on my back for what felt like 5 minutes - NO PRESSURE, it felt like she was just touching my back. It happened more than once!!

I asked my partner if he experienced something similar, and he said no. He did not. His masseuse only did that when trying to get the oil all over, but that's about it.

I honestly feel ripped off! Worst massage...

Wouldn't recommend this place. I had booked an appointment online, only to turn up and be told that it was double booked and that I would need to change my appointment and my friend's appointment who was booked after me (they also double booked that). The lady was dismissive. Rather than helping me to solve the issue that was a mistake made by them, she ushered me out the room as soon as the other client arrived. She then ignored me when I knocked on the door to speak to her about the situation. Very disappointed in the way this was handled and the rude manner in which I was treated. Sao's massage is one of the best massages I have had. As a massage therapist, I know quality and professional touch. I received a 90-minute deep tissue from Sao in which she incorporated many welcomed Thai Massage methods. Her location is easy to access in Queenstown proper, and is very peaceful, warm and clean. Sao's style is exactly what I am looking for when it comes to a therapeutic and relaxing massage. I will definitely be visiting her spa again when in New Zealand next.
