The Best Food Tour in Auckland! Debbie was our tour guide for the Auckland Food Walking Tour. My family and I have tried food tours all over the world; this was one of our favorites. Debbie is very knowledgeable about Auckland’s history, Māori culture, and the best quality food the city has to offer. We learned a lot, had the best time, and ate the most delicious food made with the freshest ingredients. We had yummy lamb kabobs, fish, venison pie, mussels, ice cream, and chocolate. We learned something interesting at each of the stops. Debbie even took us to two grocery shops to pick up Auckland candies and drinks we wanted to try. I highly recommend this food tour and guide

Last week I met Liz and experienced the Hello Auckland walking tour. Liz was incredibly passionate and bubbly. She gave a Māori welcome and began by describing what Auckland looked like in the early years. She spoke a lot about culture and history, but also the best places to drink, eat, party and relax. I was guided around new and old parts of town and was explained sculptures and new & upcoming developments. I learnt so much about Auckland and hit up some of her food recommendations over the following days and they were all divine. I gained a lot of local insights and would definitely recommend to first-time visitors or those looking to learn more about Auckland🕺🏼

Liz is PHENOMENAL! She is an Auckland native and really showed us things we would have never noticed about the city, that even locals don’t know about. She was personable, knowledgeable, and really set us up for a phenomenal trip! Her recommendations will fill all of our time here. Her knowledge around the history of Auckland and how the community operates now was an invaluable insight! She also took us to enjoy some treats, taught us some Maori, and welcomed us to NZ! 10/10! So grateful we did this!

We were met by our tour guide, Anna, in the lobby of the hotel. We are a family of 4 and had a short time in the city of Auckland and wanted to make sure we saw the highlights and learned about the history, culture, food, etc. We immediately hit it off with Anna. She is so personable and relatable!

After we headed out — Anna had a great tempo for our tour, leaving time for questions and exploration. Our tour was booked as a 3-hour private sightseeing walk.

She shared the historical sights of the harbor, the key stories and historical activities that have shaped Auckland to be what it is today, and what we all appreciated the most were the things she pointed out to see that we never would have noticed ourselves while out exploring.

There was a planned stop at two of the favorite local spots to sample coffee and chocolates which gave a nice rest break and time for reflection and discussion at what we had already seen and what we were about to see.

The tour was a mix of the harbor, the town, history, culture— it was not strenuous yet still a good pace and very enjoyable....

OMG if I could leave 6 stars it wouldn't be enough!! If you want to really get the inside "scoop" (and have a great time) on everything Auckland than Awky Walky Walking Tour is a MUST. Liz and Jo are both native Aucklanders and really know the city inside and out. They do a wonderful job of interweaving the culture, history, and personal insights into this really "neat" city tour. They also provide a list of restaurants and specific parts of Auckland that is worth the price of the tour by itself....wonderful guide to the city long after the tour is completed. A big shout out to both these great hosts for making our visit to Auckland one we will never forget. Awky Walky Tours should be at the top of your list when...

We spent several hours with the wonderful Liz, of Aucky Walky tours. First, what a wonderful personality and ambassador for Auckland and New Zealand. This was a private tour and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and engaged throughout the day. We learned about the history of Auckland and the Maori culture, and our stops included the Art Museum, Albert Park, and many off the beaten path places that would never find on our own. I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of our stay in Auckland, because she gives you so many recommendations that you don’t want to miss taking advantage of. The time flew by which is indicative of a fabulous tour. Thanks Liz, and we hope to see you on a...
