We were met by our tour guide, Anna, in the lobby of the hotel. We are a family of 4 and had a short time in the city of Auckland and wanted to make sure we saw the highlights and learned about the history, culture, food, etc. We immediately hit it off with Anna. She is so personable and relatable!
After we headed out — Anna had a great tempo for our tour, leaving time for questions and exploration. Our tour was booked as a 3-hour private sightseeing walk.
She shared the historical sights of the harbor, the key stories and historical activities that have shaped Auckland to be what it is today, and what we all appreciated the most were the things she pointed out to see that we never would have noticed ourselves while out exploring.

Read moreOMG if I could leave 6 stars it wouldn't be enough!! If you want to really get the inside "scoop" (and have a great time) on everything Auckland than Awky Walky Walking Tour is a MUST. Liz and Jo are both native Aucklanders and really know the city inside and out. They do a wonderful job of interweaving the culture, history, and personal insights into this really "neat" city tour. They also provide a list of restaurants and specific parts of Auckland that is worth the price of the tour by itself....wonderful guide to the city long after the tour is completed. A big shout out to both these great hosts for making our visit to Auckland one we will never forget. Awky Walky Tours should be at the top of your list when...
Read moreWe spent several hours with the wonderful Liz, of Aucky Walky tours. First, what a wonderful personality and ambassador for Auckland and New Zealand. This was a private tour and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and engaged throughout the day. We learned about the history of Auckland and the Maori culture, and our stops included the Art Museum, Albert Park, and many off the beaten path places that would never find on our own. I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of our stay in Auckland, because she gives you so many recommendations that you don’t want to miss taking advantage of. The time flew by which is indicative of a fabulous tour. Thanks Liz, and we hope to see you on a...
