Firstly this is not a reflection how amazing Emma is and she is the reason I have kept coming back, she’s an asset to any company!
Just know, what you book does not mean what you pay, they have enforced on the day of my appointment a significant increase in pricing for gel and removal (by them) and with no notification or confirmation at the time of booking (two weeks earlier) - only when I got to the counter my $75 mani and removal was put as a $90 mani and removal. They then offered me $80 which I reluctantly accepted. Now checking their website, their new prices are $80 for a mani and removal anyway!! What a joke!
It’s such a shame because Emma is great but this company is one of the dodgiest I’ve come across.
This is re the breach of contract Art of Nails has caused based on the agreed price of the gel mani + removal two weeks ago which was confirmed with credit information and both parties agreeing to terms and conditions.
Your staff noted a ‘text was sent on Monday to be in effect by Wednesday’, firstly I didn’t receive a text or an email. Secondly, anything agreed by both parties at the time of the booking stands legally. It’s about legality and principal.
If I missed my appointment they would have kept to the agreed terms and conditions and enforced the 50% fee. Guess that the terms and conditions is only there to suit them right?!
Additionally, I’m reading so many 1 star reviews now and seeing the response from Art of Nails stating ‘pricing is clear on our website’ clearly not important as you make up your own rules. What a joke!
Edit: based on the narcissistic reply from the owner, its clear that being called out on their poor business manner triggers a 'playing the victim' response. The only thing unfair about my review is that I had to waste my time writing it, for something that should have been standard and legal practice on your behalf. I have noted complete truth with no exaggerations.
Obviously, no longer recommending or engaging with this dodgy company. Absolutely delusional and missed the point of...
Read moreThe technician was good, she did a lovely job, I’m satisfied with the look of my nails, but I’m very disappointed with their customer service. They charged me for a service they didn’t provide, quoting: “you had an option to have your hard gel removed, but you chose not to, so we didn’t, but you will be paying for that we didn’t touch it”. Wow! By that logic, I had an option to choose luxe manicure, but I chose not to, so why don’t they charge me for that as well? Doesn’t make sense. I’m reading their comments on low star reviews and they’re so nice and understanding, offering solutions and trying to make you feel “fantastic”, when in real life, they don’t care and don’t even bother to listen.
P.S they removed regular gel with acetone soaking method (which I was happy to pay for 5$), but the hard gel underneath remained. Technician didn’t even touch it, she just buffed the surface of my nails, which is normally done in any manicure option. As I told her not to touch it, so she didn’t, but at the end they’re charging me 35$ for hard gel removal that they didn’t remove. What?
P.S.S foreseeing their comments, if they have a policy (which sounds like they made up for my particular situation) that you pay for service you don’t want, they could have informed me, saying: “okay, you don’t want your hard gel removed, but we’re informing you will be charged for that...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at the Art of Nails. I got a gel manicure and a pedicure, which took over two hours. I thought I smelled burning and asked what it was - they quickly changed machines. I was unhappy with the quality of my manicure and said so up-front - the manicurist simply put on another coat of polish. The next day, I looked at my hands and the tips of my nails were burnt! The top coat was cracked and it was discolouring the nail polish below. I emailed to request a refund but was refused - they wanted to redo the manicure. They didn't think they were burnt, they felt they had been dyed. The smell of burning + the perfect uniformity of the burn marks suggest otherwise. I didn't have another two hours to sit and let what remained of my nails to burn off and would not trust this company with my nails again. They have refused a refund and have not returned emails. They do not honour the Consumer Guarantees Act and believe their own policies override it. I had to cut my nails to the quick to remove the scorch marks. While I do understand not every customer will have a perfect experience every time, the response to my complaint, combined with the overall quality of the manicure, the time it took and the cost to repair my nails justifies a one star review. I...
