Paid $170 each roughly although the “snacks”were very tasty and restaurants delivered on there end, I wouldn’t see myself doing this tour again. When completing the booking it had an allergy box which was filled in. We were asked if we like seafood and we respond no. Which was met with well it’s big portion of the tour today.it should’ve been put in the allergy box. (It’s not an allergy) To which we were never offered or given notice to were we are heading like other tours. Tour guide then said yer we don’t let people know we just sort of do it. To the restaurants credit they did change things on the spot. To accommodate.
Booking did say 6-8 venues of location newzealand cuisine however only went to 5 and serving was a canapé 1 per person. There was a lot of walking around and tbh felt more like a history tour with snacks not a foodie tour. Got 2 glasses of wine through the tour no craft beverages or award winning cheese as stated in our tour booking.
Feel very underwhelming for the price point and would suggest doing more research...
Read moreBeware to anyone who is considering Big Foody Tours in Auckland, NZ. This is an update to a recent review I had posted. After reading the response of the Big Foody Tours owner, it is apparent more clarity is needed on the refund issue. So, evidently, another credit card account may have been credited with the refund instead of mine. Additionally, I would have gladly sent Big Foody Tours documentation to prove the refund never appeared on my Nov. 2023, Dec. 2023, or Jan. 2024 monthly statement if they had requested it. So, in an attempt to explain to Big Foody about me not receiving a refund I sent 3 emails &Big Foody chose not to respond. So, then in late January, I was advised to file a dispute claim with my credit card company. A favorable resolution to the refund issue...
Read moreI enjoyed this 3 hour tour of Auckland's finest/contemporary restaurants. Tour director Jono is knowledgeable, professional and mindful of any dietary or cultural requirements, all that with 16 ppl 😲. The fitness level is probably only a level 2 however there are times when you will need to keep up and of course Auckland being Auckland there was a mountain or two to climb 😅. My stand out was Little Culprit by far, such an innovative approach to seafood and thoughtfulness to dietary challenged ppl. Some would say their standout was Honest Chocolate, stunning, thoughtful, the flavour is intense as there is little sugar or preservatives, however I'm just not a...
