Do not be fooled by the high reviews, do not waste your time visiting here! After reading the good reviews we went to this restaurant tonight and were initially excited by the menu, we got 2 sodas and a water and I ordered an Alpaca steak and my husband ordered cuy. We speak very little Spanish but they sent us over a waiter who spoke English and he told us it would be a 25 minute wait because of the Cuy. We say that's fine and 45 minutes later a waitress comes over and says it will be another 15 minutes. My husband ordered a Pisco Sours to have with the food. After 15 minutes our original waiter comes over and says it'll be another 10 minutes. IT HAS BEEN AN HOUR AT THIS POINT AND IT IS NOW 9PM. I say we will wait 10 minutes but after that we will have to leave. A few minutes later a bill is brought over for the drinks (my husband hasn't drunk the pisco sours because at this point we are waiting for the food). We explain we'd like to pay once we actually get our food and she goes running back to the kitchen. Our original waiter comes out and apologises and says the kitchen is busy (the restaurant was not full) and it would be another 25 minutes. So after an hour and a half of waiting we were just told the original wait time again! We are both starving and tired so we say no and we get up and leave. The waiter then chases us down the road to ask us to pay for the 2 sodas we had an hour and half ago. Now I have NEVER left somewhere without paying but everyone else in that restaurant had been served food and we were just being lied to. We also left so late that we couldn't get dinner anywhere else so have had to go to bed starving hungry. Honestly I don't know if we did something wrong? My husband thinks they wrote us off the moment we ordered sodas instead of cocktails but we ordered some of the most expensive food on the menu, he also wanted a cocktail with his food, we would have had desert and left a big tip so I hope they didn't judge us on that. Or perhaps it was our lack of Spanish. Either way if you are a tourist do not bother, it is a tourist trap that clearly doesn't want to serve...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of experiencing Antonio's exceptional customer service at Casa Carbajal. From the moment I walked in, he was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home.
The food and drinks at Casa Carbajal were simply outstanding. Antonio's recommendations were spot on, and his attention to detail ensured that everything was perfect throughout our meal.
To top off the experience, Antonio spoiled us with Alfajores, a sweet dessert that served as the grand finale to an already amazing experience . I highly recommend Casa Carbajal, especially with Antonio's exceptional service. I will...
Read moreI gave 4 stars for atmosphere but we were the only people in there at lunchtime. Food is tasty and hot, presentation is pretty good... the "6hrs sous vide" beef dish isn't though. Parts were a bit dry, impossible in sous vide and strangely still had fatty strains. Tasted fine but not quite as advertised. Irish coffee was strong and good, The hot seafood/cold cerviche dish was a bit confused but the probably frozen prawns were dry. Service was great but wifi didn't work. Look up Sawasdeekat online to follow...
