We visited Nikkei Podium yesterday for a family lunch and overall had a pleasant experience. The service was great—friendly, professional, and attentive throughout our meal.
We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including sashimi, seafood on a shell, 2 sushi rolls, and mixed tempura. We also ordered some mains including pollo donburi, chicken teriyaki, and a couple of Wagyu bowls. Most of the food was delicious and well-prepared, though I wasn’t particularly impressed with the Wagyu bowls. The beef was cooked medium and placed directly on top of the rice, which caused some of the juices (and blood) to mix in—not the most appetizing presentation.
My mom and aunt ordered the salmon teriyaki, and we were a bit surprised it didn’t come with rice. It would’ve been helpful if that was clarified on the menu. Also, we were a little disappointed to hear they were out of the Indonesian cod we were hoping to try.
That said, everything else was enjoyable, and the ambiance made for a relaxing family lunch. Despite a few minor letdowns, the food and overall experience were good, and we definitely plan to come back.
Shoutout to Mariflor and the rest of the Nikkei wait staff for the...
Read moreWas excited to dine here. Had two meetings here one after the other and got to sample a lot of their food. Salmon sashimi, hamachi were very good. Tender and fresh. The unagi had an earthy like aftertaste. Yet the unagi rolls were good. The 2k steak was overpriced both in quality and quantity. Kurobota was ok. Didn't really taste a whole lot better than good quality pork in my opinion. The Mango sponge type cake was good but had a slightly wet texture to it. The roasted edamame was very unique and addictive. The tuna with risotto was excellent. My favorite dish of the night.
My companions frequent the place as a watering hole. Dont really see it that way. Maybe it's just me but I couldn't find anything in the menu to eat while drinking. The shots were fairly priced. At least there was a lot of choices at different price points. Beer selection was adequate. Service was good for the most part. The trainee was very enthusiastic. The regular staff were mulling around the counter with their backs to the customers a whole lot. It was hard to get their...
Read moreI have to share my delightful experience at Nikkei. From the moment we walked in, everything was perfect.
I decided to try the truffle gyudon, and it was simply divine. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the sou vide egg was cooked just right, adding a lovely richness to the dish. My wife opted for the wagyu bowl with uni and ikura. The wagyu steak was melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and the uni was so fresh it felt like a taste of the ocean on the plate.
We also enjoyed their refreshing iced teas, which were the perfect accompaniment to our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was incredibly relaxing, making it a great spot to unwind.
What truly made our visit special was the friendly and welcoming staff, especially Mae. She went out of her way to make us feel at home and comfortable, which added a lovely personal touch to our dining experience.
All in all, I can't recommend Nikkei enough. Whether it's for lunch or dinner, this place is a gem. We’ll definitely be back....
