Brotzeit Podium — Restaurant in Mandaluyong

New go-to resto-bar at The Podium

This spot has been holding it down in BGC for a while, but now it’s made its way to the heart of Ortigas CBD—right at The Podium. So, here’s the review:

The food We ordered pastrami, käsespätzle, Thüringer rostbratwurst, and—wow—those were a hard to pronounce. LOL. And, of course, the strawberry crushed iced tea, which was super refreshing. Now, let’s break it down: — The pastrami was packed with flavor but was really salty, at least for my palate. Good thing there’s the pickle to balance it out. — The sausage? Chef’s kiss. Perfect saltiness, great texture. — And the käsespätzle (basically cheesy baked mac) was just right—not too heavy, not too light, with the perfect cheese-to-pasta ratio.

The service The waiters were friendly and attentive enough to help, but nothing too fancy or special. It’s a good service and we appreciate that.

The vibe It’s a resto-bar so, you can definitely feel that —it is that—dim lighting and people chilling while drinking some beer and enjoying the their time with friends and family. And I like that the restaurant is located at the sixth floor of Podium, so it definitely has that exclusivity feel to it.

Overall, solid food, solid vibes. Will definitely come back to try...

The place was not crowded and even if many people came by lunch time, it was still okay enough to be able to talk to each other. The Jägerschnitzel is quite big and is good for 3 people. Its mushroom sauce is quite nice especially when paired with the Kartoffelsalat. The Thuringier Rostbratwurst has really flavorful and is not too chewy. The Eiskaffee is surprisingly good, too! Reserve early if you want seats with a view! Restaurant was full when we went on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent, very well trained staff. For the food we got the camembert and sausage platter which was more than enough for 2 hungry people. Atmosphere is what you would typically expect for a restaurant that doubles as a bar. Its a little loud, but thats expected because of the people and the music. Had a bit of a hard time conversing with the person across me at the table
