I waited in line too long during the afternoon because this branch is short-staffed and the cash registers I ended up with took a while to look for a bar code for one of my items. They could’ve escorted me to any empty cash registers. If they had an express lane (I was paying two items), the lines wouldn’t be this long and slow. One of them told me no and just wait. I responded her to hurry up because there’s a long line filled with impatient customers behind me, especially the personal shoppers who are delivering via the SM app.
SM Management , train your staff to be efficient and how to not make embarrassing and unreasonable replies.
UPDATE, MAY 1, 2023:
The same staff in SM Supermarket in Building B has done it worst. Not only they’re insufficient, they’re disrespectful/bastos and not accommodative towards customers who are PWD/seniors. I witnessed an elderly woman who claimed to be PWD was being neglected by the cash register staff and is forced to wait for them.

Yes, I'm married to a Filipino so I travel to the Philippines and stay for a couple of months at a time. From time to time my wife and I need grocery and last year and the time I was here in the Philippines we shop and SM Supermarket at SM Mega Mall close to Pasig. The SM Mega Mall is in Mandaluyong.
I turn 60 over (2) years ago and the market would except my ID for a senior discount because of my age. The last time I was there I was told that foreigners could no longer use this senior discount at SM Supermarket. I believe it because of Chinese influence. I understand a Chinese lady owns the SM brand is use her influence. I asked to speak to a supervisor twice and (2) security guards came close to the line we in. The head supervisors never showed up.
So if you not Filipino do not try to use a senior discount at SM...
