Today we decided to stop by this establishment. As soon as we stepped inside, we were informed that the menu for the day only included drinks and desserts — the electricity was out. But since we came for the atmosphere rather than a full meal, we gladly decided to stay.
At first, we sat for quite a while without any attention — the staff seemed to move without much enthusiasm, and only after some time we finally receive the menu. We chose our drinks and desserts, but then sank back into waiting once again.
When the waitress finally approached, I ordered a cocktail, pointing directly at it on the menu. Amusingly, for a table of seven, she didn’t write down a single order — complete confidence in her memory.
There was a small show — a steaming cauldron, which looked impressive and atmospheric. My mood started to lift. But then everything went downhill.
The waitress began bringing out orders without checking who had ordered what. Glasses and plates were almost dropped onto the table. My cocktail turned out to be the wrong one — the same as what another person at our table had ordered, and the difference was obvious. We politely pointed out the mistake, but received a confident: “No, this is exactly what you ordered.” We insisted otherwise, but she kept arguing.
At one point, as she walked around the table, thinking we couldn’t see her, she rolled her eyes and walked away with a displeased look. On top of that, one drink and one dessert never arrived until we reminded her separately.
At the end, when we refused to pay for the wrong cocktail, she finally brought the correct one. But it was missing the special presentation that had been the reason I ordered it in the first place. By then, we had no energy left for further discussion — we just wanted to leave this inhospitable place.
In conclusion: the place itself is atmospheric and interesting, even without electricity. But the service… I haven’t encountered such cold, uninterested, and impolite treatment of guests in a...
Read moreThis place is just magical!!! ✨ Honestly, hats off to the creators of this amazing restaurant, I loved every second there. The atmosphere is incredible: the music, the decorations, the details everywhere. The staff are super nice, and if you say a magical spell… they bring you a magical surprise! (No spoilers, but it’s really fun and cool 😍).
The menu itself is written in a very creative way, though in the end it’s normal food. I do wish they added something truly “magical” in the dishes too, like themed presentations or Harry Potter style looks, maybe just a suggestion for the future. That said, the burger was very tasty, the shrimp pasta was delicious, and the dessert (“Mandragore Root”) looked very impressive, even if the flavor wasn’t amazing (but I get it, it’s mostly for the visuals).
Even the toilet is creative _ you’ll meet a crying Myrtle ghost in there 👻. There’s also a platform 9¾, flying keys, and even a wagon from the Hogwarts Express inside the restaurant. Absolutely incredible details!
One small comment: there’s a 10% service fee that they only mention at the very end before payment. I think it should be clearly explained in advance (especially since I made a reservation with prepayment and expected the place to be packed, but it was actually almost empty). Not a big deal, but worth noting.
Overall: amazing, magical place! You must visit it, even if you’re not a Harry Potter fan, the atmosphere is too...
Read moreDefinitely recommend to those who are harry potter fans!
I will say I did have pretty high expectations from reading all the amazing reviews. I will say this is not at the level of harry potter licensed experiences I have done in the past but you can totally see the effort the owners put in! It definitely is giving harry potter spooky vibes!
We went mid afternoon and opted for some beverages. Didn’t try any of the food but I will say it did not look very good. I got the soda version of the butter beer which was super tasty! Didn’t taste like universal but it was delicious and had that butterscotch vibe. Everyone else got a brew which are teas. They were all tasty and great for the rainy day. The highlight was definitely the dry ice magic trick they do when your food arrives! That honestly made the entire experience!
I would definitely recommend for any fans who have time in their day! However, I wouldn’t wait in line for this especially if you’ve been the universal before!
Side note: The service wasn’t the most friendly but also I’m used to this from traveling poland. I do think in one of these themed cafes they should look for super upbeat personalities when hiring! Our server seemed very over it all and was saying a script kind of like a robot. Don’t think I saw them...
