We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is lovely, traditionally styled and very clean. We were situated on the ground floor in a room at the side of the hotel. Previous reviews had stated that there was a lot of noise on ground floor rooms, but we didn't have this problem. It was fairly quiet. The room was an ok size (double comfort). This had tea/coffee facilities, with a fridge. Luckily we took our own tea and coffee as there were only herbal fruit teas provided. We bought a large bottle of water and a carton of milk from a nearby zabka shop. A double bed, although firm, we found quite comfortable. A television. A spacious modern bathroom, with a great shower, and hairdryer. We needed an iron as our clothes were quite creased after unpacking. Reception staff provided us with an iron and ironing board. The location of the hotel is ideal. If you go right out of the hotel, it takes you to the waterfront restaurants, and if you go left, it takes you to cafes and bars that are off the beaten track and alot cheaper than waterfront bars.|Now onto the small issues that we weren't happy with. The television kept losing signal (although we didn't watch alot of tv as we were out all day, we do like to listen to music while getting ready). The WIFI was pointless, it had a very weak signal so ended up using our data. The bed could do with a bedside table on both sides of the bed. This was pushed up against a wall. There were no bedside sockets, so had to charge phones across the room (no good for snoozing an alarm). The curtains didn't fit the windows. There were big gaps were you could see in the room from the outside. This also let in alot of street lights which were a bright orange. Staff on reception could be a bit more welcoming. With the exception of one male member of staff who was very helpful throught our stay. Everyone else just seemed to stare blankly.|Overall, if the small issues were dealt with, I would...
Read moreThe hotel was very nice, a great location to be able to access the old town area. Easy to get to from the train station, and not far, we even walked to it👍 All the staff we met were friendly, polite, helpful and could all speak good English, for us to communicate with.
We checked the hotel out online and thought it had some great reviews and on the map, it was a great location for the old town.
We Booked an Attic room. We were impressed with how it looked, very warm, in November, was very important👍😀
The bed was very comfortable. It had two separate duvets, which was OK, but then strange for being on a double bed?
Plenty clothes storage space, for a short vacation. There was a kettle with supplies of teas and coffee, and sugars, but no milk though, for people who drink tea with milk.
The bathroom was very classy in taste, of how it was fitted out. Expensive fittings used, so you new it was very good quality. The water supply was of great pressure and the heat of hot water was amazing! Quick to come through when the tap was turned on👍😀 A lovely big mirror too, to be able to view in for either make up or to shave👍
The hotel has a lift to make it easier to access your rooms, though only goes to the 4th floor, then two small staircases to get to level 5.
The breakfast area was extremely nice. Situated on minus 1 from ground level. It was decorated so well😀 bright and clean. There was a great supply of continental food. Hot and cold drinks. Cereals, pancakes, yogurts, fresh fruit and jam's. There was a selection of bread and rolls to choose from, with fresh butter. A toaster was also available to use.
The price we got was very good, and when we experienced it, we thought it was extremely good value.
We would highly recommend this place to stay.
Only one problem, there was some staircase to access the main entrance. Not good if you are disabled and needing wheelchair access.
Thank you to all at the Celestine...
Read moreWe booked the Wowcher £99 mystery holiday and ended up with this hotel. When we got there, they let us check in 2 hours early as our room was ready which was very ideal as we had 2 heavy bags and it was snowing outside. The room was spacious enough & very clean, and the facilities provided were great. There was a hairdryer and tea & coffee available for free which we appreciated. The staff were very friendly and greeted us with a smile every time we arrived and left the hotel. The location was perfect. Celestin Residence was right near the Old Town and only a few minutes walk from all of the main attractions, and there are many shops nearby which we found very useful. Upon leaving, the staff allowed us to store our luggage with them as we had a 4 hour wait between checking out and the time we had to go to the airport which we found extremely useful. This member of staff really stood out and was especially polite throughout our stay. The price for this hotel is very cheap for what you get & I have absolutely no complaints. A fabulous stay & we will hopefully be returning in the...
