Read moreGood choice of bikes but the bikes need some maintenance. I rented a mountain bike and cycled outside Krakow along the river. The chain fell off few times when I cycled up the hill and changed gears. It turned out that the chain and sprockets weren’t cleaned for a while and therefore covered with so much muck that the chain wouldn’t stay on it. I had to stop in the forest, find a twig and clean as much as I could. I ended up having to wash my hands and it took longer to complete the route I planned. After this I managed to get back to Krakow. I reported it to the member of staff but there was no apology or even acknowledgment. A simple smile and being kind would make a huge difference. The tour basically followed the Vistula river on the way out and circled back through a forest so gave us an excellent view of the area surrounding Krakow on this side of the city.
