The staff team was not welcoming, not smiling, and showed signs of discrimination. This is very disappointing and unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Treating customers nicely and with respect is not optional — it’s a must
Your staff needs to understand that customers are usually right, especially when they are foreigners from different cultures. Respect, kindness, and a warm attitude are the basics of good service.
Below are some of what I experienced during my visit:
Unfriendly greeting: A male staff member spoke to us rudely when we entered. Instead of welcoming us, he asked if we read a sign on the door, then told us to sit without any explanation or politeness.
Very bad reaction to my crying child: When my baby cried, a female staff member came as if she wanted us to leave !! This is a baby! And that is definitely not how a family with a crying child should be treated. We felt unwelcome and judged.
Rude and unhelpful service: The waitress who took our order was not smiling at all, not friendly, and did not try to help understanding their menu nor give recommendations. She simply said “look at the menu” with no effort.
Long delay in food: Our order took a long time to arrive, and no one apologized or explained the delay.
Unacceptable response to my complaint: When I asked for the manager, I was told there was none. I then explained everything that had happened to the male waiter, hoping for understanding or even a simple apology. Instead, he replied: “We are not required to smile,” and made no attempt to apologize or take responsibility. (((This attitude completely goes against the basic principles of hospitality)))
Our bill was around 255 PLN, but the treatment we received did not reflect the value at all. ⸻
I ask that you take this complaint seriously and work to improve how your team treats all customers—especially international guests. Basic respect and hospitality must...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Pastabar in Krakow, Poland. The food was great, the staff were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was really good. They have a good selection of wine from Italy, Chile, and Spain, which is always a plus. The staff are also friendly and speak English, which is helpful for tourists like me. Great selection of Pizza and pasta, every dish can be made with gluten-free which is awesome. There are also main dishes if pizza and pasta are not to your liking, such as chicken fillet baked with mozzarella and cherry tomatoes.
In terms of the restaurant itself, it's clean and modern inside, with an open-style kitchen where you can see the chiefs do their work. The decor is stylish and contemporary, and the tables and seating are comfortable. All in all, it's a great place to dine.
I would definitely recommend Pastabar to others. Whether you're a tourist or a local, it's a great spot for a meal. The food is top-quality and the staff are friendly and helpful. Plus, the modern atmosphere and good selection of wine make it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
i've included the menu as it not on google maps and Keep in mind there is a 10 percent service charge for large groups...
Read moreIf you can, you have to eat here atleast once during your stay in Krakow. Come early, or book ahead - no reservations on Sat/Sun we found, and this place gets busy.
On our first night we had starters, mains a dessert to share and a bottle of top shelf white wine for €45.
The resteraunt should atleast be in the Michellin guide, if it isnt already. The entire menu is cooked to order from fresh, and service at a really high standard. The chef should be proud, the food is incredible and definitely one of our favourite places we've been to in europe.
We hate here twice during our week here - thank you to Phillip and his great service on our second night, despite being busy he was friendly and very professional.
Abit of an essay for a review, but really was that good. The picture is of our desert we watched getting made from...
