Read moreHave used Kokoro Fourways for all of my asian ingredient grocery shopping for the last couple of years. Will never be visiting them again after today, extremely disappointed by the service recieved. I bought around R1700 worth of groceries and the teller packed all of it into a single cardboard box. I paid and left the store. As I tried to lift the box from the trolley into my car the entire bottom of the box gave out and all of my groceries shattered to the floor. I looked at the box they had given me and there was ONE single piece of tape holding it together. All of the glass items including bottles of Sake were destroyed. The floor staff rushed over and assisted in helping me clean the destroyed items and pack what was salvagable into the car which I am grateful for however the manager just ignoring me completely. I asked one of the staff whether my destroyed items would be replaced since they had given me a cardboard box which literally fell apart as I lifted it and caused the damage. They said they would ask the manager. I overheard the manager telling them that because this happened 2 METRES outside the store they wouldn't do anything. Still without addressing me or apologising at all. I interrupted and explained to her that this happened because of the useless cardboard box that they packed my groceries into. She then proposed that she replace the damaged items but that I must pay a further HALF of the value of the goods. That is absolutely ridiculous and behaviour I would expect from a small independent store and not a successful franchise such as Kokoro. After getting tired of arguing and the absolute ridiculousness of the situation I left with only one item replaced. Extremely disappointed in the horrible service recieved, I hope the ~R300-R500 saved in goods not replaced is worth losing lifetime...
