Loved it. Have lived in close proximity for years and only visited during the day. At night the music from Billy The Bums next door, depending on where you sit could be a bit disturbing. But then the guy in his Lamborghini, revving the hell out of his car, driving up and down in the parking lot, trying to impress a piece of tail from the Billy The Bums was even worse. I digress. We celebrated a birthday and my steak, marrow and chips were tasty and done to perfection and the rest of the gang (who were vegan, vegetarian and gluten intolerant) also loved their food. Our waiter was gracious, friendly and a good photographer. We have a nice group pic to mark the occasion and the Lemon Meringue birthday cake was delicious. A doggy bag we ordered for someone left at home, included an order of your salmon fishcakes which were amazing. The table was disinfected thoroughly before we sat down and the waiters were masked throughout. Thank you. The picture is my first order of business always. A cocktail I've never had before. This one, a Passionfruit Caipirinha. Reminds me of the Passion Dawa made with Konjagi in Zanzibar.

If you are in the mood to grab a quick bite, drink or have an spontaneous meeting place, you can't go very wrong with DZ. They certainly have the casual dining vibe of a cafe /trattoria down pat. There is of course the option to take out or to peruse their fresh offerings at the counter for savoury or sweet. If you opt to dine in, service is swift and friendly and you are attended to even if you mistakenly raise your hand within eye line of one of the staff. Encouraged to try one of the tapas on offer, I was mildly disappointed to discover it wasn't kimchi, but rather sliced cabbage. There happens to be a very well stocked Korean supermarket not far away where they could source proper kimchi. Anyway, my friend was pleased with his order and we did remark that what they do right is obviously Italian / Mediterranean fare. Thumbs up for that side of the menu. Great value and service makes up for a few misses in the food.

I think I can chill here on the upstairs verandah all day ordering just mineral water because the atmosphere is soo refreshing. But they cannot prepare any kind of beef or lamb or veggie side or chips properly. The rice side is like last night's gumbo and needs a mini pocket-size USB-charged chainsaw to eat through it. The Chicken wings starter in sweet chilli sauce is amazeballs. The grilled haloumi is awesomer but rather stick to ordering the pastas and pizzas otherwise the rest of the food is uninspired and will dissapoint you if not madden you. I find their cappuccino to be ridiculously bitter. Would be nice to get some fresh bread and butter while waiting for your order because this place looks like its gets pretty busier. There is plenty of parking around and the chairs are comfortable.

So it pains me to rate this so low as I’ve been coming to this restaurant for the past 4 years as it’s just around the corner from my estate. And in those 4 yeas the quality of service has just downgraded so much: the turn over of staff is something else as well, but I won’t even get into that.

So I went through on Sunday with an extremely ravenous appetite, and took pooch with as they are pet friendly. I seated myself as there was no one at the entrance of the restaurant, the restaurant was surprisingly very quiet which I was more than pleased with, so immediately assumed service would be fast, and boy was I mistaken. Actually mistaken is definitely the wrong word. Annoyed more like it.

They offer on a daily basis from 3pm-7pm a cocktail special which includes 2 cocktails for an easy 70 “bux” (alluring rite). So I ordered a pina colada and a glass of water As well as a doggie bowl of water for pooch. Now I’m fully aware of the time it takes to make and prepare a cocktail which was why I specified to the waiter I’d like my dogs water bowl and my water as soon as possible, (with a dash of speed) and well let’s say that my waiter disregarded my request completely. He didn’t even bring me a menu!

I WAITED OVER 15 MINUTES with no water, no dogs bowl of water and not even a menu. I then requested the same thing from another waiter that basically just ignored me. My waiter didn’t even introduce himself and had no name badge.

Eventually he strolls by with my pina collda which was nothing to write home about, I only had a few sips of it and left the remainder. When he brought the cocktail I expressed to him how irritated I was with this disgusting lack of care in customer service, and asked for the bill, which I waited another 10 minutes for. By this point I was starving and just wanted to get out of there. Still never received my glass of water. I had to ask him then again for a second time to please bring my dogs water which he did with my change from the bill.

Walking out I passed the manger and let him know how unimpressed I was with the service and I told him I would not be coming back again. All I got was a sorry....

I have been a regular customer at this branch and that’s the compensation that I get, not that I was looking for anything, I don’t complain unnecessarily.

I’m very sad to say but I won’t go back there again! Or at least till they up there game with...

I recently dined at Doppio Zero in Pineslopes on a Friday night with my family. I should note that I approached dining here with some caution, as I had seen a significant number of negative reviews before deciding to visit. Alas, I did not pick the location so I was obliged to come.

We ordered a variety of dishes, including the original burger, chicken livers and fries, chicken wings tapas, and drinks such as Appletiser, beer, and cognac.

The food arrived in about 25 minutes and overall tasted good. I must give a special recommendation to the hand-cut fries, which were truly delicious. However, I found the chicken livers sauce to be excessively spicy, so it's best suited for chili lovers.

The burger, while tasty, had meat that was somewhat undercooked. I didn't mind this as it suits my preference, but since I didn't specifically request it, I believe it would be better if they cooked it properly unless asked otherwise as not everyone enjoys medium rare food.

The restaurant had a nice decor, but the seating options were not to my liking. The benches appeared stained, and the distance between them and the tables was awkward, making it difficult to sit comfortably in the booth.

On the positive side, the lighting was perfect- not too bright, not too dim, and despite it being a Friday night, it wasn't overly crowded. It seemed to cater to an older crowd, primarily aged 40 and above, based on the patrons I observed.

The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit, which was a plus.

In conclusion, if you're solely looking for a good meal, Doppio Zero in Pineslopes is a decent option.

However, I've visited better branches of Doppio Zero, and the overall vibe at this location left something to be desired. I found it lacking in energy and ambiance, so I won't...

The food was terrible, I had the buttermilk chicken taco, the chicken had no flavour at all, even the batter had no seasoning, like they expect the sauce to give it all the flavour it needs, the entire soft shell taco was soggy, also the short rib pizza barely had any any short rib or cheese on it, could get better pizza from a checkers... Asked for a glass of water and after 10 minutes i eventually went to fetch it myself... My mother In law ordered a crumbed chicken breast and got a normal chicken breast, the waiter tried to spin some story about it being lightly crumbed and when asked if it could be done properly he said the fryer is broken instead of just telling us in the begining and saving us from ordering it in the first place, the lights above us at the table we sat at were off, we asked it to be turned on, the waiter said he was going to do it, he came back with our drinks and we asked again and he said he will speak to the manager, he came back with our food, we had to ask him yet again and he said it keeps tripping so it doesn't work🤦🏽‍♂️I had to keep myself from losing my cool a few times during this visit... oh and don't go here during loadshedding, no genorator as we found out half way through the meal... in fact don't go here at all... if you like doppio zero go to the one in Hobart shopping center, Bryanston, it is far better and the food...
