The Slow Lounge brand once represented a reliable oasis of calm and quality amidst the chaos of airport travel. However, my recent visit confirms a worrying trend!

The experience has significantly diminished, failing to deliver on the most basic promise of a premium airport lounge.

The most immediate letdown was the near-total lack of operational infrastructure. In today's travel environment, reliable connectivity is essential, yet the WiFi connection was non-existent for a period of 4 hours (our entire duration being here)

Furthermore, simple operational failures, such as non-working machine, created unnecessary friction and waiting times, frustrating guests trying to grab a quick refreshment.

Perhaps the most dramatic decline is in the atmosphere and food offering. The environment was aggressively loud, with conversations echoing and preventing any semblance of relaxation. It was virtually impossible to unwind before a long flight due to the excessive noise levels.

Compounding this disappointment is the drastic deterioration in the culinary experience. The food quality has dropped tremendously since last year; once-appetizing dishes are now lacking in taste and selection, indicating a clear failure to maintain standard catering quality complimented in being cost effective with their wealth & prestige clients that spend a fortune with FNB/RMB.

We cannot image the premium fee charged for this experience no longer aligns with the service delivered. The question must be asked, Is the Slow Lounge living up to its name by being "slow" in addressing its spiraling decline? It certainly feels like the quality has been steadily, and frustratingly, slowing down. Until management addresses the noise pollution, restores basic connectivity, repairs broken amenities, and dramatically revamps its catering standards, I cannot recommend...
