We were served by Samuel. We arrived at the restaurant late 4pm. It was a pretty straight business transaction. He advised us that they close at 10pm for the day. We were okay with that. However he seemed pretty impatient as it was about to be 8:30 pm. My husband had a mocktail and a rice bowl. I had a chicken and mushroom pot pie with a glass of red wine. Then I later ordered a bottomless coffee. Just after 8:30 pm . He was clearing out a table near us since they were joined for a party of 10. While separating this table he scraped the chair very loudly and harshly to join it to our table. No problem. Then he took a side plate with serviettes, clean ones and didnāt bother to ask if we were still using them . The environment didnāt feel so welcoming. Everyone seemed to be eager to get us out and yet it was just before 8:45. I asked him for the bill and then asked for a top up of my bottomless coffee that I had ordered. He blatantly suggested that it should be a take away. I refused and told him to bring it in a cup. When he did he clearly didnāt put it down respectfully. When he came with the card machine so we can pay for the bill, he didnāt even thank us nor did he bid us farewell. It was so disappointing. I have worked at Mugg and Bean Before. The only thing he asked was if we wanted the receipt. My husband politely declined and he just stormed off. I have never experienced such lack of hospitality and engagement at this brand before. For a brand with such high standards I was shocked by his attitude and service. The food was amazing : as I had expected. āŗļøāŗļøand the coffee is always great. However that satisfaction turned sour because of the indifferent and subpar service delivered my Samuel. That ruined the whole experience for us. Especially since I highly recommended Mugg n Bean...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast Saturday, myself and my husband parents, went to Mugg and Bean while waiting for my husbands flight to land. At 8.10 in the evening, we got a table. The waiter told us there is enough time, to eat something, because the kitchen closes at 9 pm. So we ordered. My cafe latte came, but not my father in laws filter coffee. Then our food came, with the food there was nothing wrong. When the food come we asked for the filter cofee, then the waiter brings the black coffee in a take away cup. When we asked but what about the milk, he brings cold milk in a small glass, not their usual small milk jug. While we were eating they already was busy cleaning the floor, and cleaning up the tables. I was still busy eating my hamburger, then one of the other staff came and took my plate away, while i was still having half of my burger in my hand, and also my half a cup of coffee. Whe felt they just wanted us out of the restaurant so they can lock up and go. There wouldnt have been a problem if they told us the restaurant closes at 9, but they said the kitchen closes at 9. At other restaurant if the kitchen closes you know just to order the food and drinks before hand, but then they give you enough time to finish and go. We where out of the restaurant just before 9. We arrived. We were seated by a guy with a chip on his shoulder. We're given a dirty table until they started seeing us clean it ourselves. Ordered drinks. One in a take away container for the little one to keep less mess. Given a hot and real cup. Which spilled, no one helped clean it up. We did it ourselves. Note we were seated right where they entered orders into the computer. We proceeded to order.
