Good afternoon. I was at OR Tambo Airport on the third of July on my way home after my grandfather's funeral. After handing out 20 roses to random people I figured that I could try to have a smoke while I wait for the plane to take me home. Everyone suggested Craft Brewers so I went there, naturally. I sat down and asked how much a black label beer costs and the beer arrived shortly thereafter, the closed beer arrived and I asked for the prince again, I was given the price and I declined the offer as I did not have enough money in my pocket to pay for it. (I left my bank card in Cape Town for my wife) I was immediately told, I have to pay for the (still closed) beer. I declined once more and the staff member collected a few other employees and they all started telling me, we are fetching security and you will miss your flight, and that I have to pay for the beer as it is already on the system. I was then told to go ask in the store if one of the patrons can help me. So essentially I was forced to beg a stranger to pay for my still closed beer I did not want. I had no choice in the matter and had to beg, so I was immediately turned into a criminal and a beggar by the staff @ Airport Craft Brewers The first person I saw and asked, said, yes man, I will pay the bill. I offered to do an EFT for the man who paid the bill and he declined a few times. With my head sunken and my character deformed I went to board the plane and came home. This was a terrible experience and my mental image of the Airport Craft Brewers brand has been altered negatively. I believe that the actions of the Airport Craft Brewers representatives/staff was totally unacceptable and uncalled for and I am sure I was not the first one being intimidated in such a manner. Please tell me, how do you (Airport Craft Brewers) handle situations like these? Thank you for taking the time to read this (if you did). Have a good...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally annoyed by the service tonight. Arrived and waiter tried to usher us away from the area nearest the entrance where we usually sit. I asked for a seat near a TV screen. The waiter seemed annoyed because he offered me the TV remote. Once we ordered he gave one of our party a lager when he'd asked for a blonde, which is fine, but when he brought the third round for our departing overseas guest and I declined another drink because I was driving, he brought another beer anyway. The service was slow for every round. The place was not exceptionally busy but the waiter was not really attentive. The bill came to R428. I added R42 for the tip because I was not particularly impressed with the service. When he saw the tip he said to me and my guest "who is paying the tip. I'm putting it up to R100". Because my guest and I both insisted on paying and the waiter was in a kind of haranguing mood, I tapped my card. I noticed that he'd rung up R570 in total. This a R142 tip on a R428 bill. I thought that was really dishonest but I said nothing because I didn't wish to make it awkward for our guest. I'm not going to name the waiter but it wouldn't take much of an audit to work out what we had or who served us. We were at ACB from about 6 pm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Airport Craft Brewers and tried their sliders, which included mini burgers filled with chicken, beef, and hake. The overall experience was decent but not exceptional.
The sliders offered a variety of flavors, with the chicken, beef, and hake each bringing something unique to the table. The portion size of the sliders was just right, allowing for a sampling of different tastes without overwhelming the palate. However, while the concept was creative, the execution left me expecting a bit more in terms of taste and presentation.
The highlight of my meal was the chocolate milkshake. It was rich, creamy, and indulgent, hitting the perfect balance of sweetness. The drink complemented the sliders well and added a delightful touch to the overall dining experience.
The ambiance at Airport Craft Brewers was pleasant, and the staff was attentive and friendly. The establishment has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, making it a suitable spot for a casual meal or drinks with friends.
While the sliders were enjoyable, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of flavor intensity and perhaps some more innovative presentations to elevate the dining experience. Nevertheless, the chocolate...
