Hiraya — Restaurant in Barcelona

Splendid! I came without knowing whether to trust the reviews or not, but we were not disappointed at all, rather pleasantly surprised! It's not the usual sushi place that has swarmed the city. You will not see mayonnaise and sauces stripes covering the sushi. Even the vegetarian uramaki was different than in other places and the wasabi was not tasting as usual either, apparently home made! The dishes were curated, I didn't know what to choose out from. The taste was great whatever we tried, even a "simple" soup. Not to mention the girl that served us, the loveliest person who went above and beyond to help and anticipate our needs. For dessert we had the matcha tiramisú chosen for us topped with red bean; how assertive! If you like the good food and you care about quality, don't miss this place! On top it is one of the few places that take real covid measures...

We went to this restaurant with high expectations, because 4.9 it's a pretty high rating and we love Japanese food. We ordered two main dishes, two beers, one water and one dessert. Food is good, you can see it's made with fresh and good quality ingredients. But it's not that excepcional and different. Price is average for Barcelona, we paid 4.80€ for each beer (not very good, it's a local beer but probably made with corn, it's not worth the price). A very small dessert 4€ (we didn't like it, but it's a matter of taste, maybe others would love it), around 10€ each main course (good, fair food) Total around 40€ p.p. for an average dinner. The decoration is very simple, but I think this is nice because you can concentrate in the food and companions. Service is friendly and polite. I recommend it, but it is not an amazing 4.9...

We came here as we wanted to eat ramen for diner. We took 2 vegetarian soups and 2 beers asahi. On the menu, it was written that the soup was costing 11 euros and some cents. While the moment to pay came, it became 14 euros and few cents. The food was correct. I was living in Japan 1 year and I never saw in vegetarian Japanese soup some raw zucchini and corn which was the case here. The indoor is nice and cozy. The staff is nice and fast even if they inflated the bill at the end. I would not come back...
