Persuade — Local services in Bilbao

I was very much looking forward to my visit, especially considering how difficult it is to find stores that carry certain brands. I was even more so anticipating my visit because of the pictures I had always seen of the store, which is why I was slightly confused when Google Maps led me to a store that, indeed, was called Persuade, but looked completely different, it resembling moreso a sloght White-Cube aesthetic and not the rustical, wabi-sabi feel that comes across through Instagram or any other pictures of the store. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the store I was looking at indeed did carry brands like Comme, Paul Harnden etc, so I (and my father) prceeded towards the door (which itself is a glass door, so you are able to objectivly see from the inside out and vice versa). The door seemed to be locked, and even if a sales-person was looking at me, noone rushed to open the door. I was already demoralized, but my father wanted to see the store he also had seen in pictures. Upon closer inspection, we found the adress of the other location, which indeed exists, but seems to be used only on appointment basis, bordering on the showroom. A sign on the door instructed you to call a number if you wanted to enter, which we did, in fact, not do because we very already met with anymosity previously. On the way back to the city center, we tried to enter the store (the white-cube-esque one) for the third time and we were finally let in, bit perhaps only because the sales-person was standing directly near the door. I literally spent maybe 2 minutes in the store because the vibes was neither friendly nor open for discovery, which, I would argue, is essentiall especially with niche brands like the ones they carry. I sure would’ve also bought something, if the experience had been a better one, but this “experience” was almost non-existent. I wonder, why is it ALWAYS, without fail expect the fee that gracefully are kind and open, these types of stores wirh avantgarde/artisanal clothing are always not so much inviting as extremely cautious about new costumers, I guess. I was very let down and also cannot really judge the experience, as there was, for me and my Dad, at least, none to be had for us. Very much a big shame, as this store would’ve surely been a highlight on our trip. Art - and the clothing they offer borders on it surely - should be for everybody, and not the select few that are perhaps able to afford it. I am utterly disappointed in the service that was provided to me in this boutique. Never ever have I been treated this badly. While I was taking my time to admire the items and carefully consider what to try on and purchase, the manager of the store said it “was a shop, not a showroom”. When asking her to clarify she said she disapproved my behaviour in the store - implying I would not be able to buy anything.
