Universo Vegano — Local services in Madrid

This place is crazy! The lady asked if I was American and refused to sell me laundry detergent! It happened once I set the bottle on the counter, I handed the young lady my Citi American Airlines MasterCard and that's when she asked if I was American. I said yes (I spoke to her the whole time in Spanish), and she said they don't accept payment from Americans,WTH! Very insulting. Little did this lady know that my whole family on my father's side is from Spain. I was born in America but I have dual citizenship on account of my dad being born in Madrid. If you have any dignity or respect for others, do not do business with this shop. Fortunately they had the laundry detergent up the road by metro Tirso de Molina, it's next door to the Lidl grocery, it's the 24hr grocery. Only six euro versus the 10 euro...

If you are a vegan and you need anything, this shop might save your life. The offer is limited and the products (mostly German brands) are ridiculously expensive. Una de las mejores tiendas veganas de alimentación, en pleno centro de la ciudad.

Si bien el personal es de trato un poco frío (a veces entran en la tienda y no te saludan si el cliente no saluda primero), también es cierto que son serviciales y te ayudan en todo lo que les pides. Se agradece también la falta de prejucios al atender al cliente: no presuponen si eres o no vegano. Menciono esto porque, en varios sitios veganos, me han tratado -sin preguntar- como si no lo fuese (quizá por mi atuendo o por mi forma de hablar, un poco pureta).

Los precios son buenos y tienen todos los ingredientes de despensa, refrigerados y congelados que un vegano necesita. Lo que más me gusta es que tienen algunos productos en formato familiar, como el tofu de 1kg, el tempeh de 500g, la avena de 1kg y tantos otros, todos ellos más baratos que los paquetitos de los supermercados.

En definitiva, aunque me pilla lejos de mi casa, cada vez que voy al centro es una visita obligatoria para reponer la despensa. Muy...
