A Wonderful Experience at Malquerer in Santa Cruz, Seville
During our visit to Seville, we had the pleasure of dining at Malquerer in the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Youssef, who provided excellent service throughout our meal. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience.
We were treated to a lovely surprise: orange wine on the house, a unique and refreshing touch that set the tone for the meal. The wine was delightful and paired perfectly with the flavors of our food.
For lunch, we opted for tapas, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The variety of flavors and textures was impressive, and each tapa was beautifully prepared, showcasing the authentic taste of Andalusia.
Overall, our visit to Malquerer was a memorable experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, the service exceptional, and the food exquisite. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Seville, especially those in the...
Read moreWriting a review in the hopes that this spares someone from falling for the high rating. We went here for dinner after seeing the high reviews, and I cannot for the life of me understand how this place is so highly reviewed. I cannot remember a worse restaurant experience in my life. Literally everything about the experience was bad. Ambience was mediocre, service was slow, portions were small vs the price, the food was not good, some of it was not even warm when we got it, not to mention they didn’t bring out our meals together. Now a couple days later one of our party is sick and I’m sure it was from this restaurant. It is almost comical how basically every aspect of this experience could have been so bad, I’ve never experienced anything like this.
Please don’t fall for the reviews and go literally anywhere else, I’m having a hard time imagining there is a worse restaurant...

Despite it being October, weather was perfect and we had a table outside - the inside looked really inviting but it would have been churlish to waste an outdoor spot! And it was on a nice quiet street (compared to with some of the other areas awash with tourists), though we were still blessed by a trio of musicians who were totally above par (compared to London buskers, anyway). Food was exceptional - oh my gods you have to try the sheeps cheese. Also had the artichoke flower and the black cuttlefish rice - both amazing flavours and top quality. Special shout out goes to Sergio - an incredibly friendly and hospitable host and genuinely made the evening one to...
