Visited here last week as we wanted to try some authentic Swedish food on our trip to Stockholm. The service was polite and friendly, and there was only us and another table of customers there the whole time we were in so the atmosphere was a bit dead. I had the holiday special which was wild boar sausages and meat moose meatballs with mashed potato. I was disappointed by the fact the wild boar sausages were nothing more than cheap, nasty tasting hot dog sausages, the kind that you can buy in a jar of brine in any supermarket. In my mind, they would have been tasty, meaty actual sausages...but they were red hot which unfortunately couldn't be said for the rest of the food on the plate. The meatballs were tasty and good quality, but just warm enough to eat, as was the gravy. The mash was also tasty, and smooth, but again just on the brink of being cold. Everything else was fine, noting special and it all looked a bit thrown together on a plate. It normally wouldn't bother me that much, but 2 mains + a beer + a glass of red wine cost us £70! The food didn't live up to the price or expectations unfortunately, so if you want to pay Gamla Stan prices for food, I'd suggest looking somewhere else for...

Read moreAn evening out with friends on a Saturday evening in peak season requires that you book a table in advance which I did months ahead. I wanted the Swedish dish with mini wild boar sausages, mouse meatballs and ham, a pricy dish, 395,00 SEK, but when quality is good as critics had been given earlier, I made this my choice. My wife ordered just regular wild boar sausages in red wine sauce, with mashed potatoes and salad for 295 SEK. When the plates were served, I noticed the huge difference of the colors on the sausages, mine were light beige and my wife had very dark brown. After making a taste on mine, I could immediately tell these were not boar, but some multi processed impossible to describe due to a lot of soy flour in the contents. I took a taste of my wife's, and they were the real deal as expected. After calling the waiter, I was told that it was the way it was handled by the restaurant. No need to say I sent my plate out, and asked for the same as my wife. Shame on the chef and management pretending my plate was with mini boar sausages, plus for waiters doing a good job, but stay away from the Swedish specialities,...
